files?

OK, a couple of questions.

The "League File" link provides a zipped file called "New_Game.lg" which then opens up to "New_Game.lg" and "New_Game.1.lg" I assume I am to drag these into my "saved games" folder. Which one would I then use, though?

Also, how does this work? Do I need to use the program on my computer to participate or can I just use the "League Home Page" link and do everything online?

(This is my first time participating in an online league.)

Oh, and where does one find a list of the real players from 1871?

Also, I filled out the registration info on the homepage, but have yet to receive any "further instructions" via email...

I downloaded it and only got New_Game.lg That would be the one to put in your saved games folder

You do not need to use the game if you choose not to.. You can submit line-ups and trades thru e-mail and the league page..

There are some advantages to using the game (more informational than anything else as well as fine tuning

I still need you to sign up on site so i can collect e-mail addresses for league events..

To find 1871 players look at the links below the league file - or got to "retrosheet" which I will add to the links file

I'm all ready to go!

How are we planning to do this draft? Any idea as to when it'll take place? For what it's worth, I'm 13 hours ahead of EDT, so I may not be able to participate in real time. If not, I'll gladly provide a detailed list.

hey

I see what appears to be 6 teams taken and signed up on the site.

If that's the case and if Brooklyn is still available I'd love to take them.

I'm a HUGE historical baseball nut.

This is just the type of league I'm looking for.

Hello,

I signed up on your site and I'd like to join the league, if there are still openigns left. I'd like to take one of the following teams, in order of preference:
Pirates
Yankees
White Sox

If these three are taken, any team will do.

Cheers,

Andrea

problems

I still get two files whenever I download the "League File" One is named new-game and the other new_game.1

Anyway, I downloaded the file and put it into my game. When I opened the game from within OOTP2007 and then tried to manipulate it, the game crashed. Specifically, I listed the 97 players, sorted them by position and then tried to select a specific player. The game unceremoniously crashed. I have not yet installed the current patch. Perhaps that will help. I hope so.

I noted there were only 12 starting pitchers and no relief pitchers. How, exactly, is that going to work in an 8 team league?

Let me look at the file once more.... I have not have any problems... One more thing I did install the patch so you may need to as well...

When a new league starts there is always a few bugs to work out -

As far as piotching goes - There will be no relief pitchers - Back in the 1800's pitchers played the whole game and other players pitched... As the seasons go by you will find more pitchers... Remember.. The first few seasons are only about 32 games long..

By the way there are only 11 pitchers - Some teams may get 2 (depending on draft)

No, I was aware there were very few pitchers and most teams only had a couple and generally only 1 starter for most games.

I was commenting on the fact that my file appeared to be different from the previous posters.

Just wasn't sure if I was looking at the right one.

Like I said I have 84 position players and 11 pitchers.

I'm going to assume what I'm looking at is correct then.

also

When I download it I only get 1 file... not 2 as others said they see.

It appears mine is working fine as well.
