I have heard that it was shortened in size this year by reducing the font to 4pt. |

Pod Printers
I have suggested this before but the ootp powers that be should look into using a Pod Printer (Print on Demand) to make these manuals available in printed form. If you wanted one you would send them the money and they would have the printer make you a copy and mail it to you. It wouldn't cost ootp a single penny and they could even make a small profit if they wanted. It would also be a bound book and could look really good.

for games, I look at manuals as a reference guide...so when I forget what the age modifier does, I can look it up. Something are not really meant to be retained in the brain anyway!

Yeah, and that's really the spirit of the manual/game guide as well, which is part of why it's so darned big. I really want people to be able to at least say "Hmm, what's "designated for assignment" and at least be able to find SOME information on it in the game guide."

Does the manual come in pdf form or is it only available with the box version?
I only pre-ordered the download version. |

I'm pretty sure that the game will only be available via download and that the manual will be in pdf, both just like last year.

The manual will be in PDF and in-game help (F1). The game will be available via download OR via CD, just like last year. I'm getting the CD, or so I'm told. The CD cost something like $9.95 extra.

Yes sir, some of us do. It's a good idea to at least scan it to find things in the game that you would have missed otherwise.
Without a doubt, it added to my enjoyment of the game. And the idea about not printing it all out makes sense. In PDF format, you can search for what you need and just print the section(s) that you need, if printing is necessary at all. |
