same with OHL. That and I find the arenas to ahve more character, if lacking the glitter and gold of the NHL versions.

I got to discover the WHL when the lockout occurred. Its cool seeing some of those guys in the NHL now making an impact.

I actually felt in many ways it's a better product. NOt competely perfect, but when you can get center ice tickets for 12$ that in the NHL would be ten times that for roguhly the same quality....well....you can't argue with that.

That and all the light and distractions reminded me way too muc of being in a big advertisement. Not so in the OHL arenas. There it's for the game.

I think my first game was a 0-0 game between Ottawa and Pittsbugh in Pittsburgh back in 1998 or so. Had first row seats, right on the glass.

At the end of one of the periods, one of the Senator players flipped the puck over the glass right where I was sitting as he was coming off the ice. I happened to not be paying attention at the time, and someone nearby was able to get to the puck before I could.

I plan to go to at least one Blackhawks game this year. I've been trying to get into hockey for a while, but I've caught both of the Hawks road games on TV (F you, Bill Wirtz), and I'm already a Martin Havlat fan.

Well considering your'e in the NW, it's either San Jose, or Vancouver, BC. Not close by any means.

But I spent a big chunk of my life in the northeast. Buffalo and Toronto were right around the corner.
