These changes should really help. I have to admit that I'm actually more excited about OOTP 2007 and beyond right now, since some of the things I really want to see definitely won't come in this version (such as being able to add/remove leagues over the course of a universe's history and being able to import leagues from one universe into another). But version 2006, seen as a test run to get the engine working well, is going very nicely.

Thanks for the new patch, Markus.

Much appreciated.

That is great to hear. I hope you are right.

No one is looking for perfection. Some of us are simply looking for the fixes and features that have been asked for repeatedly on the forums, some of which were already in the previous version of the game, and some of which date back multiple versions.

The fix of the aging algorythms will be nice, but now it's on to the process of waiting around to get any kind of official response or committment about some of these other issues, like ghost players or the alternative of blocking fictional minor leaguers from the majors, truly historical closer usage, the corrections to playoff systems, and all of the other material posted in the suggestions forums.

However, I will say that I'm not disappointed. I expected that nothing would be done other than bug fixes and inferface tweaks, and that's pretty much what we got. So I guess my expectations were met.

The problem with ghost players is that it's too complex for a patch, but I will try hard to get them back into OOTP 2007. Please do not forget that this game was written from scratch, and cannot be compared to OOTP 6.5 for example, which had a different feature set. Some features that are 'missing' will return in OOTP 2007, some won't (promotion days for example).

But I disagree with your statement that 1.0.3 is just bug fixes and interface tweaks! There are a few very useful new features in there

'Tis a shame that auto-substitutions in lineups when your players are tired or whatnot didn't make the list, but it's a solid list nontheless. I thank you for your efforts Markus.

When you sim, this works of course. However, when playing out games I had to remove this because it caused lots of confusion. Only when a player is injured his spot is now automatically cleared so you cannot start the game with an injured player in the lineup.

Markus, I don't know if you had time to get around to this but did you fix the scrollbars resorting back to the top of the page on the sion html pages?

Btw, thanks for you efforts I think you've worked a miracle since release...

Hang in there, Markus. Now you are reminding me of Gary Cooper (in "High Noon," that is).

Edit - Sorry. Meant this for the "Patch Tommorrow??" thread. Sentiment the same, however.

And really, the fact that he's even making a third patch is pretty amazing, based on the response we've come to expect from other long-gone baseball simulations...

Does this mean that when a player is injured and a PH or PR comes in for him the injured player is also removed from his fielding posistion as well?

Did MD ever show any graphical talent?

Charlie Hough does.

I don't buy it.

No, not Charlie Hough. The Wolf. Hough's a great new member of the boards and definitely not MD.

Do me a favor folks; let's end the discussions about aliases and so forth. Stick to Markus's topic, please.
