Russian River jumped out to a quick lead in game 3, scoring a run in the first and another in the second for a 2-0 lead. Toboggan wouldn't go down easy though, cutting that lead in half with a run of their own in the third. They would take the lead in the fifth with three runs, and tack on another in the sixth to claim a 5-3 victory and a 3 games to none sweep for the series.

Looking to stave off a humiliating sweep by a team that was under .500 at the end of the regular season, and only achieved an even record thanks to wins in games 163 and 164; Weyerbacher sent Ryan Mullen to the mound to try and prolong their season. Mullen would toss 5.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts before turning the game over to the bullpen.
