Awesome job at recreating the logo - it looks great!

Below is the "Real Map" of the cities and league in question - "Hell on Wheels" is based on the construction of this rail line

I think putting the established date takes away some of the negative space, but you can decide which you like better, Tarmer.
Here is a little history of this one...

January 7, 1865
Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Sioux raiders ravage the would-be railroad town of Julesburg, Colorado, in retaliation for Sand Creek. They destroy telegraph wire in Platte Valley, then return and raze Julesburg to the ground.

I have some ideas for more elaborate logos like the Akron and Detroit ones that have already been posted, but I'm not sure when I am going to get to them. In the meantime so that you are not waiting and so Tex can do uniforms for you, here is an Erie Keystones and Chicago Northsiders:

And for future tie-ins - Here is the map that connects all the lines (if one was so inclined to create more off the railways..

Due to its huge size - I will post a link only - But this map defines all the cities served (who served them - as of 1900)

Just for a little more - historic flavor

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I have to do most of my internet activity at the library these days, (that'll be over soon), and I'm sad to say it took me days to get back over here. Life just keeps happening, don't ya know.

Not so sure about the elephant just now, could be cool, but the pirate sounds pretty cool. Having a little trouble remembering just what was on the helmet in the movie, but that could be something.

If I had to pick though, I'd lean toward the pirate. Seems to fit what I'm going for with this one.

And, also....

19th Century Negro Teams

Been working on a pre - 1900 Negro League for myself... Lafayette53 gave me the idea and inspiration when he told me he was going to work on some 19th century Negro teams himself... I didn't mean to steal his thunder and hope he will post his when he gets them going...
These are all based on historical teams and where photos were found, I will post them along with the sets... No photo, then I used my imagination...

I will re-post the Cuban Giants first and these will have the correct file names...

This is so true. I try not to check too frequently, because I always see something that I really like and want to incorporate into a league. Now I need to try and find a way to incorporate the Council Bluffs Zephyrs...

Here are a couple facts about this stop....

Council Bluffs was chosen by Abraham Lincoln himself to be the starting point of the Transcontinental Railroad.

As more Indian tribes were pushed into the Council Bluffs area by pressure of European-American settlement to the east, inter-tribal conflict increased, fueled by the illegal whiskey trade. The US Army built Fort Croghan in 1842 to keep order and try to control liquor traffic on the Missouri River.
