Below is the "Real Map" of the cities and league in question - "Hell on Wheels" is based on the construction of this rail line

January 7, 1865 Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Sioux raiders ravage the would-be railroad town of Julesburg, Colorado, in retaliation for Sand Creek. They destroy telegraph wire in Platte Valley, then return and raze Julesburg to the ground. |

Tarmer, the added history is really cool. I am going to start working on one of the suggestions that you sent to me.

And for future tie-ins - Here is the map that connects all the lines (if one was so inclined to create more off the railways..
Due to its huge size - I will post a link only - But this map defines all the cities served (who served them - as of 1900) Just for a little more - historic flavor http://www.bigmapblog.com/maps/map03...ndPACVcirg.jpg ![]() |

Not so sure about the elephant just now, could be cool, but the pirate sounds pretty cool. Having a little trouble remembering just what was on the helmet in the movie, but that could be something. If I had to pick though, I'd lean toward the pirate. Seems to fit what I'm going for with this one. ![]() And, also.... This is amazing! Simply fabu, as my main man Wakko Warner might say. I love the colors and the style. ![]()

19th Century Negro Teams
Been working on a pre - 1900 Negro League for myself... Lafayette53 gave me the idea and inspiration when he told me he was going to work on some 19th century Negro teams himself... I didn't mean to steal his thunder and hope he will post his when he gets them going...
These are all based on historical teams and where photos were found, I will post them along with the sets... No photo, then I used my imagination... I will re-post the Cuban Giants first and these will have the correct file names... This is so true. I try not to check too frequently, because I always see something that I really like and want to incorporate into a league. Now I need to try and find a way to incorporate the Council Bluffs Zephyrs...

Council Bluffs was chosen by Abraham Lincoln himself to be the starting point of the Transcontinental Railroad. As more Indian tribes were pushed into the Council Bluffs area by pressure of European-American settlement to the east, inter-tribal conflict increased, fueled by the illegal whiskey trade. The US Army built Fort Croghan in 1842 to keep order and try to control liquor traffic on the Missouri River. |
