After struggling early in the month we're chasing the final wild-card spot ... and we recently picked up Catfish Hunter, who hopefully will help us go through

As ol' Satch used to say: "Don't look back. Something might be gaining on you"

I spent the past week in Vancouver for a conference, so didn't have much time to look at or deal with my team. I think I did a little roster movement mid-season switching my 5th starter, but the team has managed to finish 2nd in our division and have had a wildcard locked up for a while now. They played .500 ball through June, and then had a good run the rest of the season. They started to slow down in September, but have still managed 15-10 with 3 games to go. We'll fall short of 100 wins this year, but still made it over 90. Not bad for basically being the same team I played last year, and not pulling anything better than a silver all week.
I keep debating over whether I should just save up the pp and try to grab someone on the market, but the chance to have a really nice pull keeps me grabbing packs. Last edited by vyshka; 11-17-2018 at 05:50 PM. |

Clinched home field through the LCS, but just as the season is winding down, my entire offense has set up camp in the freezer…

I put him in when every catcher I used hit below .200.
I may have to start him after my team is demoted. |

Made the wildcard game! I've had more success in A-ball than I did in Rookie league last year, but I'm gonna need a miracle to advance in the playoffs - the other Wildcard team is actually the second-best team in the league. We had a 104-game winner and a 103-game winner in the same division. Even if I luck out in the one-game series, I'm probably gonna face a smackdown in the NLDS.
![]() At the very least, Michael Brantley put on a show for us in October and got not only Player of the Month, but the batting title as well. Last edited by Fyrestorm3; 11-18-2018 at 02:01 AM. |

We couldn't pull it out at the end, but 90 wins isn't too shabby ... fith best record in the NC and 8th best overall.
Lexington in the AC Central hat a better fate ![]()

With my last few PP I just opened a Kenta Maeda (73/52/57) - now the question will be this: add Maeda to the rotation at the expense of a 89-rated James Paxton who is OBVIOUSLY hated by his team mates? Probably jealous of his rating? I mean… 0-4 in 11 games? The team only won two of those games at all... when the baseball gods give you hints this obvious you should listen, right?

some people can describe their team as having good days and bad days. My team can be described as having good weeks and bad weeks. after a good week my team could be contending for first only to be contending with mediocrity after the next. My pitching was much better than expected and hitting improved from terrible early to so so by season end. both good enough for a wildcard bid against a team i haven't beaten all season. hopefully a playoff run happens on good week. this mode was a lot more fun than i thought it would be.

In the Zeta Theta rookie league, I finished third in the NC west division, 8 games out with a 91-71 record, but made the last wildcard spot! The great thing was that my lucky ace Nolan Ryan cleaned house all season and won the pitching Triple Crown! Fantastic

Got thumped out of the division series. No offense whatsoever. Of course. When will any team of mine ever have any sort of offense? They have always been offensively inoffensive.

Just moved onto my second championship series. Lost last year (week) in seven games on two run walk off home run. My team has the best regular season record of the teams left in playoffs.

gah... so close.... took the LDS to 5 games but lost 4-2.
my boys actually did pretty well battling back.... lost the first game 6-5 in 17 innings (side note: I take exception with the news report from that game calling it a "thumping". More of a nail biter/squeaker type game than a thumping).... the thumping came in game 2 when I lost 7-1.... figured we were going down in flames from there... but the 'take it one game at a time' cliche kicked in... won the third game 5-3.... won the fourth game with a walk-off sac fly in the bottom of the ninth.... but alas lost the final game 4-2... good luck Santiago the rest of the way... at least if they win it all I can say I lost to the champions ![]() |

Up 4-1 in the top of the 9th in game 5 of the DS, yadda, yadda, yadda, and Justin Turner makes two errors with two outs to allow the game to be tied. Then in the top of the 10th, two walks and four ground ball singles end my 124-38 season.

Go up 3-0 only to lose 4 straight. Lose Championship series in 7 games once again.
