Mashing Series - Game 1: #1 Scorched Earth Giant Killer vs #1WC Tree House Tornado
Giant Killer fans got that sinking feeling again as their bunch fell behind early. Tree House took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the 5th, hoping to keep the Scorched Earth bats asleep, but it wasn't to be. The Giant Killer offense finally woke up to the tune of 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th, and 3 more runs in the bottom of the 6th to take a 6-3 lead. Tree House managed to claw one run back in the 8th but that was as close as it would get, as Scorched Earth claimed a 6-4 victory to open the series. |

Mashing Series - Game 1: #2WC Sierra Nevada Narwhals vs #3WC Horsefly Jazzy Razzy
The opening game of the Mashing series between Horsefly and Sierra Nevada stretched for over 5 hours as they needed a number of extra frames to come to a decision. After the Jazzy Razzy pushed across a run in the top of the 6th to tie the game at 3-3, there wouldn't be another run for a full game's worth of innings. In the 15th, Horsefly would finally break through again, scoring two runs to take a 5-3 lead. Sierra Nevada would push a run of their own across in the bottom half of the frame but would come up short as Horsefly claimed a 5-4 win. |

Mashing Series - Game 2: #1 Scorched Earth Giant Killer vs #1WC Tree House Tornado
In a back-and-forth type of game, Scorched Earth struck first with a run in the bottom of the 1st inning, only to have Tree House answer in the top of the 2nd with a run of their own. The Giant Killer retook the lead in their next at bat with a run in the bottom half of the inning. The Tornado tied up the game once again in with a run in the fourth, but that only lasted until the bottom of the 5th with Scorched Earth scored again for a 3-2 lead. Tree House struck again in the top of the 8th with a 2 run homer from Victor Hernandez to take their first lead of the game at 4-3. Unfortunately for Tornado fans, that lead didn't make it out of the inning, as Scorched Earth scored 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to retake the lead once again at 5-4. That lead would hold up and the Giant Killer now hold a 2 games to none lead in the series. |

Mashing Series - Game 2: #2WC Sierra Nevada Narwhals vs #3WC Horsefly Jazzy Razzy
The Narwhals were cruising along with a 4-1 lead as the game headed into the 6th inning. Sierra Nevada fans were hoping for a quick and quiet second half of the game to even up the series before heading on the road. Unfortunately Jazzy Razzy left fielder Don Blaquiere ruined those plans with a 3 run blast in the top of the 6th to tie up the game. The next inning, Horsefly center fielder Doug Fontenot cranked a solo shot to give them their first lead of the game. The bullpen would make that stand as Horsefly claimed a 5-4 win and a 2 games to none lead as they head home for game 3. |

Mashing Series - Game 3: #1 Scorched Earth Giant Killer vs #1WC Tree House Tornado
While not wanting to call it a must win game, Tree House knew if they didn't pull out a victory they would be in the dreaded 0-3 hole. The Tornado went unconventional with the opener-follower strategy on the mound. Matt Thurman opened the first two innings of the game, giving up just one hit and no runs before turning things over to normal starter Dustin Meyers, who tossed the next 6.1 innings, with only 4 hits and 1 run allowed. Closer David Ewell finished out the final two-thirds of an inning to give Tree House a much needed 2-1 victory. |

Mashing Series - Game 3: #2WC Sierra Nevada Narwhals vs #3WC Horsefly Jazzy Razzy
Despite a shaky defensive game from the Jazzy Razzy where they committed 3 errors, their pitching trio of Scott Bartz, Jim Ramos, and Michael Battle would pitch around them and hold Sierra Nevada at bay. Horsefly would emerge with a 3-1 victory and take a commanding 3 games to none lead in the series. |

Mashing Series - Game 3: #1 Funky Buddha Huki Idol vs #1WC Terrapin Hopsecutioner
Terrapin held a tenuous 3-1 lead as the game headed into the late innings, but one swing of the bat from Huki Idol third baseman Ray Collier in the top of the 8th changed the face of the game as he cranked a 3 run homer to give Funky Buddha their first lead of the game. That lead only lasted until the bottom half of the inning as Terrapin scored one run to tie things up. The game would extend into extra frames, but would end quick as Terrapin received a walk off RBI hit from David Schroeder to claim a 5-4 win and a 2 games to 1 lead |

Mashing Series - Game 3: #2WC Russian River Blind Pig vs #3WC Crooked Crab Furious George
Russian River starter Jon Hartley went pitch-for-pitch with Crooked Crab Ace Jim Stamey, as Hartley went 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs; while Stamey went a short 4.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs of his own. It would come down to the bullpens, and the Furious George took advantage of the Blind Pig hurlers, scoring a run in the 6th to break the tie, then 4 more runs in the 7th to put the game out of reach, as Crooked Crab claimed a 7-2 win to narrow the series to 2 games to 1 |

Mashing Series - Game 4: #2WC Sierra Nevada Narwhals vs #3WC Horsefly Jazzy Razzy
When you are down 3 games to none in a best of 7 series, all the cliches of taking it one game at a time and playing like it's your last game have more meaning. That's the position Sierra Nevada finds themselves in heading into game 4. The Narwhals would receive a superb performance from starter Steve Garmoe, who would give up just one hit in 6 innings of work before handing things over to reliever Bobby Walden. Walden would pick up the 3 inning save, giving up just one hit of his own as Sierra Nevada avoids elimination with an 8-0 game 4 victory |

Mashing Series - Game 4: #1 Funky Buddha Huki Idol vs #1WC Terrapin Hopsecutioner
One costly inning was all it took to sink Funky Buddha's hopes of evening up the series. Terrapin picked up 3 runs in the second inning to take an early 3-1 lead in the game. Little did either side realize that would be the only inning where the Hopsecutioner would score, and those three runs would hold up, as the Huki Idol only managed one more run in the game. Terrapin walked away with a 3-2 win and a 3 games to 1 lead in the series. |

Mashing Series - Game 4: #2WC Russian River Blind Pig vs #3WC Crooked Crab Furious George
Down 4-2 with 2 outs in the top of the 9th, Russian River first baseman Sandy Hernandez stepped up to the plate with one runner aboard, looking to prolong the game to give his club a shot at a win. One swing later, the game was tied as Hernandez deposited the ball into the left field stands. The game would extend to extra innings, until Furious George designated hitter Andrew Quinlan blasted a walk-off 2 run homer in the bottom of the 12th to send the crown home happy. With the win, Crooked Crab evens up the series at 2 games each. |

Mashing Series - Game 5: #1 Scorched Earth Giant Killer vs #1WC Tree House Tornado
In what seems to be a building theme in this post season, game 5 between Scorched Earth and Tree House needed extra frames before a winner could be declared. In the top of the 10th, with one out and the go-ahead run just 90 feet away, Giant Killer left fielder Vinny Rondon drove a pitch down the left field line. Tree House left fielder Roberto Frausto made a spectacular diving catch to rob Rondon of a hit. Jorge Reynoso tagged at third and sprinted home, but Frausto bounced right up after the catch and fired a strike to catcher Josh Moots, who put the tag on Reynoso to complete the double play and keep the game tied at 3. In the bottom of the 10th, with the winning run on second, Tree House left fielder Lorenzo Martinez drove a fastball into right center field. Jason Cooper motored around third and sprinted home, sliding in well before the ball arrived with the game winning run to give Tree House a 3 games to 2 lead in the series. |

Mashing Series - Game 5: #1 Funky Buddha Huki Idol vs #1WC Terrapin Hopsecutioner
With the season on the line, Funky Buddha sent out reliable starter Joe Swigart to try and turn the tide. Swigart didn't disappoint as he spread 5 hits over 7 innings of work, giving up no runs to keep Terrapin off the scoreboard. On the flip side, the Huki Idol picked up a run in the second inning and rolled with that until the 9th, when Ray Collier belted a solo homer, then three batters later, Ben Peterson cranked a 2 run shot of his own to put the game away. Funky Buddha claimed a 4-0 win and narrowed the series deficit to 3-2 as they head home for game 6. |

Mashing Series - Game 5: #2WC Russian River Blind Pig vs #3WC Crooked Crab Furious George
Russian River was cruising along with a 3-0 lead as the game headed into the bottom of the 9th. With closer Kunifusa Yamamoto on the mound, they only needed 3 outs to finish off the Furious George and grab a key game 5 win. Then the wheels fell off, and after a barrage of hits, it was Crooked Crab celebrating around home plate as they scored 4 runs in the frame to claim a 4-3 win and snatch the 3 games to 2 lead in the series. |
