It's to Real Madrid mostly (and Barcelona in the past), where the quality of the players is so huge in terms of creating plays and a high-octane offense that McManaman or Beckham's limitations are too evident to ignore. The same is true for many Spaniards who were signed by Madrid with lots of fanfare only to see themselves overmatched there. Like them, I think McManaman would have done pretty well had he signed with a different team, as his style of play is appreciated in Spain. Heck, even Madrid supporters, the coach and teammates loved the guy.

In Beckham's credit (whose off-field issues are well-known in Spain, believe me, as the tabloids are reproduced ad nauseam every freakin' day), he's been fielded out of position the whole season, but he also seemed too shy to even think about leading the offense. Sometimes, when the team is attacking, he looks like another guy watching the game from the stands, for Christ's sake.

McManaman is just utterly useless, look at how he performs now in the EPL, he had potential when he left for Madrid but it never developed. I think Beckham misses the discipline of United, and playing him in the middle of a four man midfield with no defensive midfielder is never going to work. I think he's stopped practising crossing the ball altogether which was his best strength and therefore is useless on the wing for England.

Its a minor point, but its important to me, at least.
Well firstly Scotland aren't involved in international football of any sort
but seriously the hatred and violence between Celtic and Rangers fans is the worst in western europe. I'm English and hate being grouped in with the British/English hooligans, I'm not a hooligan so why should I be regardless of my nationality. For the record hooliganism has drastically decreased at football matches in England and most of the incidents quoted took place in the 80s. I just wish people would stop using it as an excuse for their hostility and admit they just don't want to give us a chance.

As far as the SI OOTP goes, the SI folks are really really nice, and I have total creative freedom. Of course, I will try to add as many aspects from CM (now FM) to OOTP, while also maintaining the current feature set. I love customization, and I will do the best I can to ensure that the next OOTP will be as customizable as possible.

The game will benefit greatly from the knowledge of SI. Heck, their code base is so awesome, I have never seen something like this before. It'll definitely get OOTP to the next level. And in order to be able to benefit from the technology, most of the game will be re-written, based on the SI technology (GUI, database etc.).

While looking for the reason MD was banned I ran across this. Seems like everything he said 2 tears ago has come to fruition. Good job Markus!

No, I don't think so. I believe he was refering to a past suspension that MD received.
