I feel for Buehrle...

How long has he been going for win #100? Seems like a month.

You're right EJ, I dont think we have any chance at all of catching Detroit or Cleveland. Both look to be much better than us.

The funny thing is that prior to the season, everyone knew what the team needed most: bullpen and outfield help.

This is still our biggest problem. Our bullpen was filled with unproven players and 1 washed up one (Mcdoofus). The outfield wasnt even addressed.

Now we can't hit. The whole team is in a funk, and yet we are stuck with Walker as the hitting coach.

It's going to be a long season im afraid

It could be worse. Our players could end up hitting eachother like on the North Side

Wow, nice game by Owens. He definitely was a difference maker in tonight's game. Vazquez pitched one heck of a game.

Yeah, I was impressed with Owens. Small sample size or not, he's now 5 for 11 at the big league level.

It was nice of Good Javy to show up tonight, and Bobby Jenks got used for the first time since the Eisenhower administration.

Here we go again The starters need to start pitching complete games or they are going to lose. Everyone knew this bullpen sucked before the season started and KW doesn't seem to get it. Back to the alcohol for me...

Seeing as there were a total of 66 complete games in the entire American League in the 2006 season, good luck with that strategy.

Yeah, just wishful thinking Maybe they can trade for an entire new bullpen instead

Hmmm.....just had a look at the bullpen ranking of the White Sox at BB Prospectus and they are dead last in all of MLB. They're not even pitching at replacement level.

The three other teams with bullpens below replacement level are Tampa Bay, Cincinnati, and the Yankees.

The top five pens, in order, are San Diego, by a sizeable margin over everyone else, Dodgers, Red Sox, Twins, and Braves.

The bullpen has been bad and White Sox hitters were 0 for their last 61 vs relief pitchers before Pierzynski's double in the 9th today. Now they are 1 for their last 65.

That's right, everybody. MORE THAN TWO CONSECUTIVE GAMES WORTH OF NO-HITTERS.

This was posted on Sox Machine after yesterday's game:

Code:
				AB	H	R	HR	BB	K
Sox hitters vs. relievers	45	0	0	0	3	6
Hitters vs. Sox relievers	57	22	13	1	10	7
Truly, the mind absolutely boggles.

dola,

Rumor I'm hearing is that MacDoofus as AAArdsma are being sent down to AAA to get their heads on straight, and Bret Prinz and Ryan Bukvich are getting called up.

Hooray?

Reality check: You guys could be Rangers fans. Don't think too hard on that one, it's dangerous for your health/sanity.

The bullpen bloodbath is official. Aardsma and MacDougal down, Prinz and Bukvich up:

http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news...=.jsp&c_id=cws

Also, Ozuna has been transferred to the 60-day DL, which isn't a big surprise at all, since a 40-man spot had to be opened up for one of 'em (I think it's Bukvich).

It's probably too much to hope for, but the Sox really should play "Big New Prinz" by The Fall when Bret comes in to pitch.

Ah, a White Sox winner, variant #2:

Starting pitcher pitches very well into the 9th. Crappy bullpen turns a 4-run lead into a save situation, which Bobby "The Only Reliable Guy Here" Jenks converts, thus making the game more nerve-racking then it had to be.

I watched the Sox Pride video this morning. I think the players need to watch it so they remember how they played 2 years ago.

Nah, if they watch that, they'll all just go on about how much they miss Aaron Rowand.

If you listen to certain people that is the reason they haven't won since 2005. Last I checked the Amazing Rowand isn't paying dividends for the Phillies either.
