July recap - division leaders:

Lager League - Pilsner Division: Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot - a solid 15-8 month of July has the Blithering Idiot still in command of the division with a 4.5 game lead. Troy Daniel is settling into the number 1 starter role, with a record of 8-3 and a 1.91 ERA to this point.

Lager League - Kolsch Division: Scorched Earth Giant Killer - the Giant Killer lived up to their Scorched Earth name in July as they burned through the competition to the tune of a 21-2 record. Thanks to their nearly perfect month, they have extended their division lead to a massive 19 game lead. Starter Mike Sikorski is enjoying his best season ever, already matching his single season best in wins with a 13-3 record.

Lager League - Helles Division: Sierra Nevada Narwhals - the Narwhals had an impressive month, going 17-6 to take a 6 game lead into August. Youngster Tyler Neubert has stepped into the number 2 starter role and run off a 4-1 record and a 1.13 ERA to help the cause.

Lager League - Tripel Division: Daft Badger Hoppypotamus / Meadowlark Mob Barley - the combination of a 4 game Daft Badger losing streak and a 5 game Mob Barley winning streak to end the month put the two teams on equal footing atop the division at 54-45. For Meadowlark, the recent acquisition of ace starter Amine Brisset should help their efforts for a pennant; and the emergence of rookie centerfielder Dave Miller (2 home runs, 29 RBIs, .370 average) bodes well for the future.

Stout League - Porter Division: Funky Buddha Huki Idol - an 18-9 month of July kept the Huki Idol in solid control of the division with a 6 game lead as they seek their second straight division crown. First baseman Alejandro Rivera is doing his best to make that happen as he has cranked 17 home runs, with 60 RBIs and a .338 average.

Stout League - Dunkel Division: Four Hands Typhon - a so-so month of July (14-12) was a bit of a let down for the Typhon and their fans, but the team still enjoys a solid 10.5 game lead in the division. Starter Mike Hunter continues to cruise along with a record of 11-5 and a 2.54 ERA.

Stout League - Eisbock Division: Kona Pipeline - despite a 13-13 record in July, Kona still holds a 4 game lead in the division over powerhouse Russian River. Multi-MVP Pablo Landeros continues to show why he is one of the best in the league, swatting 22 home runs to this point, with 73 RBIs and a .302 average.

Stout League - Altbier Division: Tattered Flag Man of War - Tattered Flag is using a top notch speed game (first in the league in stolen bases with 103, and first in the league in base running at +20.6) to sit atop their division with a 3 game lead as the calendar turns to August. Youngster Mike Holguin is settling in to the lead off role, batting .313 so far, with 33 doubles, 61 runs scored and 27 stolen bases.
