Well... I would like to bury my head in the sand and pretend real hard that this particular season NEVER happened. Was a disaster from the get go.
However with that said I raise a toast to all of you fine folks, and particularly to Orcin who put this cockeyed scheme together and made one heck of an enjoyable way to play PT. Good luck to those still in the fight this week and hope to see many of you around the Perfect Leagues in future both here and PT2.0. CHEERS!!! |

Hi y'all, how about a standings update going down the stretch for fans of your league who aren't actually in it.

Had a chance to read through most of this thread between games today.
Found the talk about the "magic" going on very interesting. No one brought up some things I've long suspected. For example, based on home-road splits, I think it's highly likely that players get a home bonus, separate and apart from the way that managers tailor parks to their own team. Other situational things are probably also in effect. For example, probably the whole league hits better with men on base, and walks are probably way down when the bases are loaded. It wouldn't be a very accurate baseball simulation if stuff like this wasn't accounted for, and it doesn't need to be a hidden rating for each player, just some secret sauce that affects them all. Factors like this can help explain the high variability we see too. If the guy in front of you in the batting order has a streak of bad luck, then you don't get the bonus from having a man on base, so you look worse too. Zorro's comments make me wonder if there could be a hidden batter rating vs individual pitches. I doubt it, but it's not outside the realm of possibility. And there's long been speculation about a seasonal random event for each player as to whether they will have a good year or a bad one. Again, I doubt it, but questions like this, do, indeed, keep things interesting. |

I wish there was a stat for how often I changed positions with Blue Rocks.
I initially said a dozen times but at this time, I would not be surprised if we changed the top spot more than 20-30 times. Almost every other game, we swap positions. Adding the wildcard race to the standing update. |

Beachgoers and Whalebacks have an interesting battle.
Whoever ends up #2 in the division will not make the playoffs. I have a feeling the playoffs won't be decided until late tonight and we may see another game 163. |

AC wildcard starting to get spicy!!!! with 5 to go .. 3 teams looking to get that last spot... Bobs Burgers seems to have the inside track given the schedule ... but at this point i think you can throw all that out ...
3 teams have a shot at the AC central Still |

Base Thieves, Green and Burgers have all won 7 of their last 10. 3 games to go, Burgers are 2 up on both teams for now. Base Thieves have like a hundred guys hot.
Chargers' magic number is 1 in the NC for the final WC spot there. Last edited by pappyzan; 06-26-2019 at 12:05 PM. |

The stage is set .. and like it was scripted ... Bridgeport had a 5 game set with Santa Monica to end the season taking 3 of 5 and beating them in the final standings by 1 game! Making the playoffs in their first go around
In a repeat appearance from last seasons playoffs Bobs Burgers against Zorro in the wild card game ... Can Bobs Burgers rewrite the story .... Warriors take the 1 seed in back to back seasons ... hoping to make a deep run in the playoffs and another playoff birth for me ... Angry Dragons ... hoping I can finally win one here On the otherside ... Magpies take the 1 seed and are back in the playoffs after missing last season for the first time Breakers are in ... showing last seasons run wasnt a fluke. They Will face off against the Blue Rocks who have made it in 3 straight times ... and won it all 2 seasons ago Chargers make it into the playoff for the first time but will have to face playoff veterans The Base Stealers who went from auto playoff birth .. to almost demoted last season to back to the October games Good luck to everyone in the playoffs.. and for everyone else ... it was a pleasure battling you guys all season |

Congratulations to the Angry Dragons on winning our Division . They were the better team all year and there was nothing I could do to catch them. Man Am I hurting. I drank way to much at that party yesterday and can barely see to write today. Lol.

What a mistake I made yesterday. We went to a party in the city and I partied wayyyyy to hard. I want to repeat as Champion so badly that I decided to skip a St Paddy days party today that my friend has every year .What I should have skipped was yesterday. Lol. This is absolutely terrible. I think I need a hour shower to try and clear this head.

Predictions:
Best of 5 division Series: Zorro over Warriors - Sorry #1 seeds don't cut it in this game. Dragons over Whalebacks - Could be a sweep Base Stealers over Magpies - I like the Magpies, but same reason as Zorro over Warriors Blue Rocks over Breakers - should be close League Championship Dragons over Zorro in 7. - This will be close and go either way Base Stealers over Blue Rocks - Tight series, but when in doubt, this game likes Wildcards. World Series Base Stealers over Dragons - Dragons heavily favored, but Wildcards win out.
