Any word on who they're bringing up in his place?
The Jays have two off days relatively close together so don't need a 5th at least temporarily, looks like Taubenheim will get his spot and Chacin will probably be back next week anyway.

There are rumours floating about about Adam Kennedy possibly coming to the Jays also.

That would be hot, if they don't give up something unreasonable to get him. I was crushed when the Cards traded him for Edmonds.

From what I heard it would be Hillenbrand for Kennedy.

Kennedy would play 2nd, Hill would shift back to Short, and Hinske would most likely DH.

That would work fine for me. While I think Hillenbrand > Hinske, it would at least drive the last nail in the coffin of any "platoon with Rios" bull****.

And I assume you mean Hill would move to SS? The Jays have some tall dude with a German name playing 3rd.

If they could do it without giving up Hilly, that would be even better.

...and oh yeah like that guy on 3rd is pretty Glausome

Wow, are they trying to get everyone from the 2002 WS team?

I personally would say getting more pitching is more important. Right now they're relying on Casey Janssen & Ty Taubenheim. I think that's too much to ask. And who knows how Burnett will do or how long he'll last when he comes back.

dola,

anyone know why the Jays waived Miguel Negron? He looked pretty good for NH until they dropped him.

Yeah, I was at the game tonight and we just made the 1st pitch so we didn't know the lineups, then I saw Glaus at short and was like wtf????

Anyways , nice win tonight and I'm 2-0 on the season.

That was basically my reaction upon entering the stadium and seeing a giant at shortstop. some nice moon shots by the offense though, including one in the first by Wells that just missed being fair... upper deck.

The Jays had basically given up on Negron. He's already 25 and not really showing too many signs at filling out that first round potential.

I would have rather DFA'ed John Hattig, but I'm not going to lose sleep over losing Negron.

Glaus at SS came as a surprise to me when I read about last night's game... but he has had experience at SS before. Just not in a long time.
