If you watch the opposite angle, the player on the kicking team does indeed hit him.

Think about it. Is it that far out of the question that Irvin said some things that he shouldn't have said? Think of the business.

Well of course he's going to complain every time he gets touched, because the refs have set that standard. Look at some of these roughing calls on Allen. Just give QBs a flag already.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfQYul_AQ8U

Any contact with the QB can result in a roughing call. There is no standard.

I've got a new bet for Vegas to take next time KC plays the Chargers. Who gets shown on TV more: Andy Reid, Taylor Swift, or the crazy lady Chargers fan?

Wait, are you saying a football broadcast should stick to showing football?

Nope. But I do say tv shouldn't shove ancillary stories down our throat. Football fans tuning into a football broadcast want to see the reaction of football players. If Kelce scores, I can pretty much assume Swift is happy. If the Chargers score, I can pretty much assume the crazy Charger lady is happy. But I want to know how the defense reacts. Did someone miss an assignment? Was the D confused? Did the coach go against the gameplan? Was some one out of position? That is what football fans want to see.

If they were showing a Taylor Swift concert, would they expect fans to want cut ins to Travis dancing in the aisles? No. Swifties want the cameras stuck on stage.

I’m selling on the Niners. Gone from Super Bowl contenders to Wild Card weekenders real quick. Division is Seattle’s to win.

IDK who to buy or sell. As soon as I was convince Purdy might have something he lost 2 in a row. As soon as I thought the Bills might have righted the ship they played 3 stinkers in a row. As soon as I thought KC's offense could no longer carry them they start winning w/D. Detroit didn't look like they belonged in the same league as the Ravens. At the start of the year did not think Cincy would be in last, Rams would have 3 wins & the Panthers would have zero. The Jets Wilson led offense is better than the Giants'. Somehow, Philly doesn't look as good as last season, yet has one loss. Am I ready to call Baltimore a favorite when Lamar has never won a playoff game?

I'm a Hawks fan and all but I'll need to see them actually take down the 9ers first. Seattle's defense is really, really coming to play now but at the same time it seems like Geno Smith is going from being a mild asset to a mild detriment. I don't know, that might be a bit much, and they were without DK Metcalf this week. Still, he straight up took points off the board with a really, really dumb pick this week - his 2nd INT in the red zone in the last 2 weeks - and we were very fortunate that the Cardinals' offense was so bad that they could muster just 3 points off of those turnovers (I mean, kiiiind of 6 since the interception prevented the Seahawks from scoring on that drive). And of course the fumble - those things happen but one thing that made Smith stand out last season was that he was a guy who gambled a lot but also managed to not turn the ball over very much. The bloom seems to be coming off that rose.

It's too bad we didn't get a 3rd year of Denver's 1st rounders! The Hawks could have drafted Marcus Penix...

I love how everyone says Purdy lost his first game when they lost against the Browns. The kicker missed the game winning FG. Are people stupid?

The Seahawks are not winning the division. The 49ers are winning the division. They pretty much have a better everything.

I mean, yeah, anybody that tries to reduce a team's performance to something as simple as QB wins or losses is being pretty stupid. Purdy was bad for almost the entire Cleveland game, even if the final result came down to a missed field goal that doesn't change that, but that still doesn't mean the loss is completely on him, and it's not like all of his wins as the starting QB are all because of him either.

Geno was either 1st or 2nd last season for PFF for most turnover-worthy plays, meaning that he had very strong turnover luck on the year to finish with only 15 turnovers (I think they had him at around 35 turnover-worthy plays). He was also strong in their metric big-time throws, I think top 5, so he still graded well for the season, but it seems like his turnover luck is drying up. The good thing is that the Seahawks didn't have to give him a massive, franchise-QB type deal, so if that stays that way and he ends up hurting the team's chances of being as good as they can be they can get out of the deal pretty easily.

I think you answered your own question

By my rough calcs, the Chiefs have averaged a tick under 26 points per game in their 18 regular season losses since Mahomes became the starter. Seven of those times they scored 30+ points...

And the Browns had PJ Walker @ QB. As a Panther watcher, I can vouch that makes it much worse.

Maybe. But my gut and eyes says losing to the browns and Vikings are a referendum on the current defense and Shanahan. Seahawks have a spark the Niners do not.

Seattles home field advantage is immense. After watching them flail against the Browns and Vikings, I don’t think this crop of Niners have a chance in Seattle

I’m still on the Purdy train. He’s fine. It’s leaky defense and questionable play calling from Shanahan that I’m basing my opinions.
