Sorry for your disappointment in not making the playoffs, but I am sure you can see the bright side of not being promoted.

The Thrashers are clinging to a 1/2 game lead for the division -
We're already virtually eliminated from the Wild Card, so it's division or bust. We do have a strength of schedule advantage, so I'm cautiously optimistic. The in-season churn continues for us, which I'm not too fond of, but I knew Carlos Carrasco wasn't going to be here long, but sometimes a quick upgrade is just that. I kind of botched his exit though with auction end times, so I missed out on the upgrade I was shooting for, but I'm happy replacing him with Gaylord Perry and Adam Ottavino. Today we added Anthony Rendon and we'll look to add a bigger upgrade later today. |

I did some late season upgrading but too late to get me back into the race....added Duke Snider, Ernie Banks and Roberto Clemente. My gold league is tough!

Opened a pack with Adrian Beltre. That's what I needed. More glove-first third basemen!
Not kidding. I have Yandy Diaz (who was in my starter packs and as of yet has withstood any challenge) Eduardo Escobar Xander Bogaerts (who has to moonlight here and there because I have a Lindor) Matt Duffy Jake Lamb (who should not be glove-first, but sure batted that way…) Fun thing is, nobody ever buys these guys. I actually sit on a lot of silver cards I can't turn into anything. I have a Zoilo Versalles that has not played a game for me (see the Lindor/Bogaerts part), but also has not been bought on five or six hikes to the market. Also, the most reliable catcher for offense I have yet been able to find? John Hicks, a 63-rated card. (yells at Realmuto) WHY ARE YOU SUCH A BUM?? Next week it will all get better.

My bronze league team is currently clinging to a 2 game lead in their division and have the easiest schedule for the rest of the season of the contenders for the spot, so looking good for me to get 1 team into the playoffs this season. My gold league team has to really implode to end up in a relegation spot (probably just jinxed myself), so looking good for them to remain in gold 301 for next season.

*whimper* Looks like I'm getting the last WC seed, barring a late month collapse. Of course, the last series of the year is agaisnt... YOU! So, anything is possible. Picked up Mickey Mantle for a last month rush. He's responding by hitting under .160 midway through the month. I think I break everyone I pick up. |

my pack-only team has been eliminated (68-85) and is just playing spoiler now.... safe from relegation, so it'll be another year in silver next week...
my pre-ww2 team is hanging by a thread (74-79; 6.5 games out with 9 to go... the last 3 game against the division leader... would make for a sweet final series if they can close that gap to make the final 3 games meaningful)... and if they don't pull out a small miracle, it'll just be another year in silver for them as well... and on the "I'm never going to hear the end of this" front... my 15 year old daughter's team in the bronze league has already locked up her division (93-60 record; 10.5 game lead)... I'm just waiting for her team to end up in the same league as one/both of mine so she can kick my butt too...

It seems we have a late season series every year with playoff implications or actually in the playoffs including a World Series that you beat me. Somehow I think we will be together in a Diamond League too since we have been in every league so far. Maybe I will reach in my BP and give you Randy Johnson and Kershaw. So maybe you can have a chance at those two and Greinke. I lined up my staff on the first of September so that the Big Train, Kevin Brown, and Matt Harvey will for sure be well rested for the first 3 playoff games. Good luck in these last 9 or 10 games. I hope you get hot and clinch the wild card before our last series. Tell the Mick that I said to get off his rear and carry that team for a bit.

My team has now lost 8 straight and is tied with 2 others for 15th place. So maybe we'll get to stay in this gold league after all. I'm not doing anything to stay here, but I'm also not going to do any upgrades (I've not done any all season). At the moment, I only have 2.5k PP so it's not like there's much I could do anyhow.

I haven't checked in too frequently, but my all-Yankee team is headed for the playoffs in Silver, and my pack opening only team is headed for the playoffs in Bronze - just one perfect has made a big difference so far.
My main team is moving up from Gold, but I'm now 1 game behind with 3 to play. The team leading me has 3 games against Fire Anty's super squad, while I'm facing a team that has started bullpen'ing it. |

With 1 game to go, we are in 15th place and the 2 teams that are tied and 1 game behind me are playing each other so that means my team is going to a diamond league. As odd is it might sound, I kind of look forward to seeing if I can keep my team from being so bad it gets relegated so it could still be interesting even if we do lose a lot. And we will.

We finished 76-86 and although there were no super-teams in our division, we actually had a winning record outside of our division. But we did even worse against the super-teams. In other words, we beat up on the weak.

Congratulations on your successes with all of your teams (being close to the WC in gold is a success, IMO). So how did your gold team do? Did they get a WC berth?

![]() It's cool to hear that your daughter is playing PT. Is she a big baseball fan? My daughter likes a few of the computer games I like, but she's not a baseball fan, unfortunately.
