I'm not gonna respond to this post until it can be done in a proper Red Sox thread.

Hint, hint. Nudge, nudge.

stupid A-rod. Don't pop out with the bases juiced in extra innings!

Never mind that. I was utterly amazed that Farnsworth did not lose the game in the 10th inning. I was so sure . . . I had my finger on the remote off button . . . and was amazed that he actually held them scoreless.

Yeah, and also don't lead the league in HR's and RBI while having a historic start to the season.

And, Derek Jeter, please keep committing errors, we'll love you anyway

When A-rod wins a few rings, he can strike out and pop out all he wants

I was looking at ARod's amazing numbers for the '07 and then saw that he is only 29 home runs away from 500. Dayam! How time flies. It seems almost a foregone conclusion that he will eclipse that mark this season.

I'm sure he will. Will he ever surpass 700?

If he avoids grievous injury, it's a good bet.

Last year, the doubles came back and advanced even further, however he had a hit-lucky season so he likely won't be hitting .340 again anytime soon.

I projected him this year to hit 301/333/471 with the doubles power sticking. PECOTA sees most of the doubles sticking and a little bit of plate discipline coming (which makes sense considering his age) giving him a projected line of 308/345/472.

What skip was pointing to in that discussion was PECOTA's projected line of (pulling out my 2006 BP) 283/316/425. What they missed was that they regressed his BABIP too far to the mean. He appears to have pretty above average BABIP ability. At that point, it was reasonable to expect him to regress to that line which really isn't too much better than a utility infielder.
The discussion was simply about the fact PECOTA gave Cano a bigger chance to become a utility infielder than Reyes. The main reason being Reyes having better speed.

Wouldn't it be nice if it was easy to blame one player for an entire team not winning rings?

Hey! I hate Farnsworth. I think he is the root of all evil. Is he or my opinion of him not worthy of any commentary at all? Must it be A-Rod, A-Rod, A-Rod, 24/7? I almost invite darkhorse to continue "talking about other teams players in this thread." Except Bonds, of course.

Starting for the Yankees tonight: Chase Wright who pitched in Single-A ball last year and two games of Double-A this year. Yeah, we're in good shape.

(But, I'm predicting that he will do OK in his ML debut.)

But, remember, that Albert Pujols only played in A ball before being called up. (as pointed out on Baseball Tonight last night.) I'm sure that Chase is a quality player like Pujols, right?

Ok, maybe not.........oh well, I'll be watching his nasty curve ball VERY intently tonight.

Can anyone suggest a good Yankee's history video? All I've been able to find are World Series videos, but I want something that chronicles the entire history of the Bombers. Any book recommendations would be great as well.

I hope the Indians don't Chase Wright in the first inning.

That Vanden Hurk fella, who hadn't pitched above A ball, did all right for the Marlins.
