Trinidad & Tobago Bats
While I'm here I decided to relocate the Reds' triple A team so it's closer to Caracas. Had to be an English-speaking place to preserve the pun. The Trinidad and Tobago Bats! with the angle of the bat and the cap logo and the colors all supposed to be their diagonal flag
![]() This had been one of the few minor league teams I hadn't meddled with, since I really like the logo, so it is very satisfying for me to put them there ![]() * added an additional ampersand logo, again in imitation/tribute of Kevin, who recently did one for Astoria ![]() Last edited by 20_range; 10-22-2023 at 11:32 AM. |

Peloteros de Yucatan / Yucatan Ballplayers
I've always wanted to have a team representing the Mesoamerican ballgame, which absolutely fascinates me. Here we have one of the Mayan pelotero funerary statues from Jaina, in front of Chichen Itza. Same clip art from the Merida Dragonflies in the first post of this thread, which I'm replacing, because that was a SFgiants logo that I just reskinned.
The statue ballplayer is about to strike the rubber ball with his hip, but to me I decided he was a lefthanded batter who had just hit a double the other way past the third baseman, he has flipped his bat and is turning to start to run to first. ![]() The Y and YP small logos are meant to look like the Leones de Yucatan logo. The green color is from the flag of Yucatan. Last edited by 20_range; 10-22-2023 at 09:21 PM. |

Arizona Serpientes improved
I just sat through seven games of the Arizona Diamondbacks, maybe the first time I've watched them since Randy Johnson, and they didn't once wear their Serpientes alternates! I'm not sure why they don't, and I'm not sure how they just won four games of that series, but here they are rebranded again.
My second attempt at this now that I understand how to use inkscape instead of gimp. These are in their current colors. The ball is copied from the one on their snake head alternate. And here it is with snakes instead of rays ![]() Last edited by 20_range; 10-28-2023 at 01:01 PM. |

Arizona Serpientes continued
Here's that S as a hat logo. Not sure why they didn't go ahead and do this.
![]() *** edit. Now includes this extremely weird positive space experiment. The snake head in Arizona's A logo had to be pointed out to me ![]() Last edited by 20_range; 10-28-2023 at 01:34 PM. |

Arizona Serpientes original colors
some attempts at doing this with the original colors. It's not easy... I had to replace the dark tan from the original with the new sand color to make this readable

Maracaibo Catatumbos / Maracaibo Relampagos
My second Venezuelan team is named for the lightning storm near Maracaibo, the second largest city.
"It originates from a mass of storm clouds at an altitude of more than 1 km (0.6 mi), and occurs for 140 to 160 nights a year, nine hours per day, and with lightning flashes from 16 to 40 times per minute." The real team from there is just called the Aguilas, eagles, although they do have a lightning bolt on some of their logos. I just have some letters for the small logo, I will probably come back to it. *not really sure which colors are best where in the outline, or to make the stadium show up best. I tried a few. Also maybe the logo should read "Relampagos de Maracaibo". But I'm pretty happy with the concept ![]() ** I should probably use the lightning bolt from the flag of Zulia as the hat logo Last edited by 20_range; 10-26-2023 at 11:23 PM. |

Tampa Bay Lightning
During my research into the atmospheric phenomena of Maracaibo Bay, Venezuela, it came to my attention that the NHL team in Tampa Bay is also named after the frequency of lightning strikes in that area. (I'm not very informed about this sport

Can confirm that the Tampa Bay Lighting are pretty good at hockey and there are a lot of lighting strikes in Central Florida. From late March to early September we have afternoon tropical thunderstorms on a near daily basis. The "sunshine state" moniker is just good advertising.

Orlando Hurricanes 1
I have a Eugene Churches team, why not this!
As part of my research into central Florida, here are the Orlando Hurricanes ![]() version 1 with the tarp pushers - flag attempt version 2 regular kevin hexagon I had intended to try to make a waving hurricane flag, and then I found that a sport I know even less about, college athletics, has a team from Tulsa (?) that is hurricane themed. So here they are recolored as the Orlando Hurricanes. Last edited by 20_range; 10-27-2023 at 11:43 PM. |

Those are great! I think there is a story behind Tulsa being the Hurricanes but I forget now, but that's a strange one. Orlando is about an hour from the East Coast and two hours from the West Coast so we get our fair share of hurricanes but they tend to weaken a bit by the time they hit us. In 2005 I rode out four hurricanes in one year, that was wild. We were out of power for months. This year has been kind to us though.

It took me eight versions to figure out that the inner circle should be orange.
I think this is done now ![]() |
