Same thing... if an image is offensive you can use addblock to block that image, addblock do more than just blocking pub.


As I said your problem isn't first world problem and you can solve it easilly without making a big deal...

Feels like any useful practical information has been conveyed here and any venting value this might have had should have been satisfied some time ago.
Now it has mostly just devolved into endless, pointless bickering.

Can we all just agree that WHY the logo has changed is absolutely irrelevant. As is how everyone FEELS about the reasons? The only think worth discussing here is how historical players can still use the name if they want because it was a thing for good or ill.

We can also entertain how much the Guardians name choice sucked and Rockers or Spiders (yes I know this one could not have happened) would have been better?

This sparring back and forth over what is or isn't PC or woke or what the heck ever is going nowhere. Nobody gives a f--k what anyone thinks and no one is changing anyones minds.

With Spiderman being so popular, it baffles me why they didn;t choose Spiders. I have used these or something similar in my main league. i had them as the Buckeyes for around 6 seasons. For the 2036 season, I changed them to Guardians.

Also OOTP is a German company. If the forums are based in Germany it would be illegal to use the swastika on this forum.

How about that. Trying to sift through this thread of virtue signaling and whining looking for real solutions in OOTP is ridiculous

My current game started in 1947 & OOTP 20. I'm up to 1965 in OOTP 23. I don't figure I'll get there in 23 but when I pass 2022 they will be the Guardians. I'm pretty detail oriented when it comes to logos & uniforms.

In case you haven't noticed, user avatars are not restricted to former logos of baseball teams. If someone can have an avatar that symbolizes racism and oppression, why can't everyone have one like that?

Lukas, perhaps I'm not understanding exactly what tem316 experienced, but it could be that he changed the name to Spiders and it stuck until the offseason, when OOTP pulls the following season's structural info - including nicknames - from the teams.csv file. And in that case, if he's not using a modified teams.csv file (that replaces Guardians with Spiders) then the nickname reverting to Guardians would be expected OOTP behavior.

(Would be nice if we could split this thread in two, one for the "how to" discussion and another for rants & other stuff )

That image is ABSOLUTELY racist. I cannot believe that there can even be a discussion on that topic.

NOT pointing out racist behavior is essentially condoning it, so I also agree with ChrisJNelson on that point and IMO there should be action taken against them by the forum moderators.

All that being said, I've taken my own actions to remove all posts from that forum member from my view so thankfully I no longer have to deal with it...just the enablers, I guess.

Good for you. You should write the forum mods or Markus and tell him as much. It’s his boards. Meanwhile leave the rest of alone who just want to play the game our way and figure out how to best do it
