You had to actually cut off the edit where I corrected myself in order to post the quote that way. But whatever makes your day.

I just think that the far stricter rules in boxing makes it harder for the lesser athlete to win.

With a statement like this: "MME is a sport for fighters who just arent athletic or skillful enough to box." one would assume that you at least did practice one or both of the disciplines that you compared and was so sure about. That is how I see it anyway.

Oh please. You'd misspelled my name every time you've ever typed it, and have joked about it when I've pointed it out. Don't feign ignorance. It's beneath you.

TBH, you blindsided me with this one. I apologize for misspelling your name and I likely joked about my stupidity in doing so. Why would I joke about the spelling of your name??

Rabbit punching is against MMA rules, and submissions take a skill set all their own, and it can be argued that submission grappling actually takes more skill and athleticism than striking.

I don't know why you would joke about it, and we both post too much to try to go back a few months and review it.

I really am sorry and I can tell you that I dont remember ever making fun of somebodies name. Maybe I posted something after an evening of drinking. If I did, it embarrasses me. It really isnt my style to be passive aggressive. If I have a disagreement with someone, I usually come out and say it.

Which sport is really more barbaric? The one that allows a fighter to get punched in the head hundreds of times in a match and allows a fighter that's gotten knocked out cold 10 seconds to recover and continue fighting (and up to 2 times in a round)? Or the one that when a fighter is knocked out cold, the match comes to an end (granted, how quickly dependent on the ref). Where a fighter (winner or loser) can avoid getting punched (or kicked) in the head the entire match? Playing the barbarism card when trying to contrast boxing to MMA just ain't gonna fly. ![]() Keep in mind I have nothing against boxing. It's what I grew up watching and I still enjoy a good boxing match.

We already talked about it, but there have only been two deaths in the ring/cage in the history of MMA. One was in an unsanctioned show in Europe and the guy who was killed had it coming by just showing up. The other was last year (or was it this year) and that was an out-of-the-blue occurance. How many deaths have there been in boxing just the last 10 years? 70, not counting 2007 or 2008.

It was sparked by Dave Meltzer. He was seen sparring outside the announcers booth and he did say he would take the fight, but I don't know how he would anyways seeing that he's signed with Strikeforce and didn't weigh in Friday night, AFAIK.

My original plan was to throw out push kicks, have him think that I’m gonna throw them more, and then to shoot in on him, obviously. But the promoters kind of hinted to me, and they gave me the money to stand and trade with him. They didn’t want me to take him down, let’s just put it that way. It was worth my while to try to stand up and punch with him.---Seth Petruzelli on The Monsters in the Morning radio show on Real Radio 104.1, Orlando

The only way EliteXC sells out another card is if KJ Noons fights Diaz.
I also wouldn't mind seeing Affliction work something out with CBS, instead of this EliteXC garbage.
