Eww... Downs scares me, I could see needing Ryan here even with a 5 run lead

Nice game, and a nice 5-2 home stand.

The long road trip begins: Tampa Bay - LA - Colorado. Should be fun.

Nice to take another series. We just have to keep that up. This upcoming series vs Tampa should be winnable, if things go are way I can definitely see us sweeping. Though seeing as how we're facing the Devil Rays, that never seems to be the end result.

We're 4 games above .500 for the first time all year as well!

Yeah they always have trouble with Tampa Bay. They have to clean up against teams like that if they hope to keep in contention.

Hendrickson/Halladay should be the best matchup. Towers is listed as the starter for Sunday.

I have faith that Towers will do better. He wasn't too bad against the Angels, it was one bad inning (of course, with him, that's all it's been in every start), but last year wasn't a fluke. I think he can turn it around.

If only there was a :fingercrossed: icon...

Yeah I know, he had a solid 3 innings against the A's before he fell apart. So maybe there's hope for him.

Maybe if you click your heels and say "There's no Josh like '05", we'll get the 2005 towers back. Somehow I doubt it, but it would be funny to watch.

I will get out my ruby slippers and do that on Sunday.

I will wear ruby slippers and a red dress to a game if Towers gets up to a .500 winning percentage this season.

An amazing job done by Halladay today. Tosses a complete game in under 90 pitches. Jays win 8-1 and look to win the series tomorrow with Towers taking the mound.

I really think Towers finally gets his first win of the season tomorrow.

Despite the 3 hits tonight, I'm still worried, he's not quite Halladay. His ratios are still way off and he's not striking out nearly enough people. I know I'm being picky, but I'm worried he won't have the Cy Young calibur season we're all expecting.

On another note, Reed Johnson may very well finish this season with the highest HBP/PA ratio in baseball history.

I was right!

Great start for Towers today. Hopefully he builds off of that.

It's still better then seeing a poor start from him. And also, when you've done as poorly as Towers has this season any good start is, well, a start.

Unfortunatley his next start is in the thin Colorado air. But it was a nice win nevertheless. 2/3 on the road is always good.

The scariest part of that is how much Towers gets paid. He's the pitching version of Hinske.

The 5.2 is over 2 years, it's a drop in the bucket.

It's just odd how sometimes players get a huge salary increase after one decent season then go into the tank the next season.
