Thanks, Rev
. I figured that a Seattle/Negro League/stealing theme would have quite a bit of life in it, and be pretty cool for OL. They're not having it all their own way, with Sugar Hill perfectly capable of playing Seattle at their own game. They just added another 2-2 split, to leave the door open for another surging team! In Paxville/PD news... I spotted another Dave Magadan reward. This time for 1st place. Drafted another decent team and seemed to hang around in it for a while... So I checked this evening, and sure enough, 2nd place

That would be great. I'd be happy to buy him at this stage because Port Ruppert's pitching could use the boost that Gaylord Perry would bring. Perhaps you could let me know how much and when we could set up the transaction. I guess it would be best to send me an IM. |

Diamond League
Silly took charge with a couple of series wins, but it's not quite over yet. There're still plenty of games for Silly and Cary to swap places, and Waffletown could yet sneak in there as well.
I added Pedro and Raines to knockemstiff yesterday. So, obviously, they had their worst month, and finished it on a run of 1-18. Their bullpen has probably been in the red for that entire run, after Pedro lasted 0.2 innings in his 4th start

Gold League
Coney Island stretched out a bit more of a lead, which could be plenty to protect, as Lemp Ave. only have 3 games left to play.

Rustlers Hold On in OL S257
Terra Incognita remained in first as the calendar turns to the final month of the season. The race is still compact, so their position is hardly secure. No team is currently in the relegation zone, but a few are just clear of it.

Oop! Wrong Team
So I pull my first historical 100 in months and it would fit perfect with the Mundys new theme, except it was pulled by the Rustlers. Still it was a real treat.

Bronze
Seattle on top. A big 3-game series with West Burlington begins in just a few minutes. Then the Stealheadz have six games with Sugar Hill.

We're still in PTCS Bronze! Up 2-0 in the QF, so I'm at worst getting SE John Clarkson!
COME ON YOU DYNASTY, SEIZE THE THRONE AND BECOME KINGS OF BRONZE!!! EDIT: ....and in true Magus fashion, we blow the series in 7. Conglaturation, me! The legacy of failure is strengthened. They will be shouting LOLMagus across the land. All hope is permanently lost as RNGjesus has decided once again that my suffering must be intensified. <insert Billy Madison YOU BLEW IT gif here> If it sounds like I'm salty, it's because I ****ing AM, and quite frankly I have every right to be. EDIT EDIT: Clarkson ended up selling for 575k, so it softened the blow significantly. Acquisitions were made, and I'm waiting until the post-playoffs ragesales to spend the remaining 237k. Acquisitions made were Pedro Martinez (275k) and Ferguson Jenkins (completed missions for 61k) Last edited by Magus978; 08-22-2021 at 12:33 AM. |

Congrats to Silly! In the end it was pretty dominant.
Also congrats to Annandale and Silly for escaping the clutches of relegation, which is more than the rest of us could manage . Look out Gold 2042!! |

Congrats to Coney Island! Kept honest by Lemp Ave. all week, and well deserved.
Lemp Ave. have the consolation of being the sole playoff representatives. |

Boomerangs Snag OL S257 Crown
Bluffton blazed down the stretch, going 9-4, to squeeze past Kaipo and a late charging Asylum, which climbed from last with an 8-1 mark. Included in that run was a road sweep of their stable mate Rustlers, who fell from first by finishing 1-5. No team will be relegated. The winner of Bluffton-Kaipo will head to gold. New York winning a wild card spot sets up the possibility of an all Magus crew series.

I logged into my teams for the first time since last Sunday (besides logging into the tournament screen on my phone to enter). Followed my teams by checking the standings here. Vacation is over I need to duck Henri today.
No surprises with either team. I kind of figure Coney Island to be a 77-85 win team in gold at best with maybe the occasional spike up or down. I am going to roll with the team as is with exception of maybe one position. Looks like Sugar Hill had a good few months and faded at the end. I am still surprised they have managed to remain at bronze, while now disappointed they didn’t finish a little stronger. The Gang is point-hoarding mode for when I retire the current team. Both teams have many packs to open, although the Warriors generated well below average this week. Won’t get to the packs today. I neglected checking Sugar Hill’s missions they had completed 12 and just submitted them. Good luck to all in the playoffs and if you happen to be in the path of Henri I hope you and yours are safe. |

going to celebrate the little victories:
Waffletown didn't end up with the worst record in the league, and they finished 2 games higher than predictions expected ![]() nabbed another card on the STL team#2 mission, so down to one to finish that off... huzzah

I heard about the storm heading your way on the news. Stay safe.
Without bothering with details, I'm pretty frustrated with PT at the moment. The most fun I've had this week came from helping Stanley out with the Kent he needed . I think most of my PT time will just go in to tracking OL for a while. I'll wait for the crash to unfold, and, hopefully, if Paxville have a break from ripping packs, they might actually pull something decent when they resume. Clutching at straws... |
