One month left before the playoffs start...here is a quick league recap for Silver S272 league:

AC East:
Harlem Hatches held on to a narrow 1 game lead in the divisional race.
Salem Witches are 4.5 games behind and coming off a bad 3-7 stretch.
But the wild card is still within reach (3.5 games behind)

AC Central:
Asylum Keepers are 10.5 games behind but only 4.5 games back in the wild card race.

AC West:
Janesville Onyx have a narrow 0.5 game lead and will have to fight off two
non-OL teams to avoid the wild card race.
Unfortunately both the Port Ruppert Mundys and BlufftonBoomerangs are too far
back to push for a division title or wild card spot.

NC East:
The Palolo Puppies team and their solid team have taken control of the division.
I am jealous...lots of players I like are on the team.
The Sanguine Classics and New York Patriots are both fighting for the wild card
but have 3 non-OL teams also fighting for the same two spots.
Good luck to both of you tomorrow!!!! Make it happen....

NC Central:
Asheboro Road Dogs are currently in a relegation spot. Hopefully they can turn things
around and force a non-OL team into the lower division.

NC West:
My kids Seattle Endless Summer team managed to keep the non-OL San Diego Aztecs away from the
top spot. Hopefully most of the re-training will come to an end before the playoffs begin.

Good luck to everyone and hopefully we can fill the playoffs with lots of OL teams.

I234 OL Standings through August 31st

The top three teams at the end of July shuffle places. Hampton Roads has 16 OL games remaining, Melaka 19 and Tacoma 16. Hampton Roads and Melaka face each other 10 times including a season ending three game series. Gotham the current 4th place team only has six OL games left on its schedule, New Zealand in 5th has 21 games left.

In the I234 standings
We have a tie in the AC east: Hampton Roads and Melaka are both 87-46 with Arkham in 3rd 4 GB (Arkham would be in 1st place in every other division)

In the AC West Gotham has a 7 1/2 game over 2nd Place Mudville

NC East sees Victoria pulling away from the B. Knights now holding a 6 1/2 game lead with San Pedro 9 back.

In the west New Zealand leads Tacoma by 2 1/2 with New York 10 1/2 back

The WC spots in the AC almost look certain to go to the 2nd and 3rd place team in the East. In the NC Tacoma is +4 1/2 with the Knights, San Pedro and New York separated by 3 1/2 games

First Look at OL P415

I have a fairly busy schedule today, so I won't have time to check the crown chase schedule for gold and silver, but it seems we have races across all levels this season. Good luck to all down the stretch.

B270 Update

Redmond continues to lead the way

Redmond has 9 OL games remaining
Motown has 13
Frankenthal has 16

Crystal ball says this title is Redmond's to lose. Oddsmakers give the following odds to win the Bronze title:

Redmond: 3:2
Motown: 5:1
Frankenthal 8:1

The only way a challenger wins this is if Redmond wins 5 or fewer of their remaining games, and if the challenger plays at an .800 pace. Motown starts the month with 7 straight OL games, so their fate should become clearer soon.

Non OL standings
Redmond has a slim lead for the 2nd wild card spot in the AC. Ozark has an outside shot at a wild card spot
Motown is a few games ahead of Daytona Beach for the NC Central title
Daytona Beach, Little Rock, and Frankenthal are all battling it out for the NC wild card spots

Code:
Our League Standings - B270 - Sep 1, 2030
			 W L Pct
Redmond Defenders	26	16	.619
Motown Stars 29	22	.569
Frankenthal Retros	26	21	.553
Ozark Bobcats 22	19	.537
Auckland Athletics	20	20	.500
DB Pickleballers	25	26	.490
Little Rock Crayons	22	29	.431
Philadelphia Patriots	19	27	.413
Chi-Town Towers 17	26	.395

The stack has never been higher for Melaka in the team's young OL stint. After several below average seasons, the team is having a triangle warfare with the "Iron Cthulu" Arkham Horror and OL debuting powerhouse Hampton Roads Rush in the AC East division. The Pennant Chase has all three teams being 100% to make the playoff and it's a battle to see who can go ahead of the other two wildcards(assuming no ridiculous thing happens in the final month).

At the same time, each match between Roads Rush and Armada are very critical to the final result of the OL season. In the upcoming schedule, Melaka will also face fellow OL team Boogie Knights for the first time in their OL history(I think? Not sure if they are matched last season), one of the top batting teams in the NC.

-------------------------------------

Anyone mind giving me the names of the best OL-legal speedsters? Like 90+ on all three speed stats. It's really impossible to search them without looking at every card and I am certainly not a historian who knows all the classic players like the back of my hand.

I'll be hanging out in downtown St Louis at the Stanley Cup parade, so it'll be later tonight before I can provide any updates for the Sep games.

Silver Tim Raines. Absolutely killing everyone down in Iron on my 80's team with his insane speed. Hoping to pick him up for my main, but I'm not paying the almost exorbitant prices on the AH right now. His peak gold card would be an excellent DH, but its pretty useless in the field. Stick with the silver one if you need him to play in the field.

For speedsters, 90+ in baserunning is a pretty strong hurdle. Otis Nixon (61) is the only card I own that meets the criteria. Cool Papa Bell qualifies at 89 BSR.

How important is baserunning? Whenever I see your name I think of pest control for some reason.

Most people around here just think of a pest that is out of control when they see my name.

Wow. Big spender. He is out of my budget. I hear good things though.

Great haul for an FTP player, decent value for the purchaser. Win-win.

I bid on that card but lost, which worked out, I then overpaid a bit on 99 Walter Johnson at 200k. I'd actually rather have him than Keefe.
