Repko split time between AA Jacksonville and AAA Las Vegas last season. He made the club due to Jayson Werth's injury and trip to the DL.

Last night completed my conversion to the fire Jim Tracy camp. Letting Odalis hit with the bases loaded in Colorado started the ball rolling. Then he hit for Choi with Saenz (possibly the worst choice for a PH against RHs) against Vasquez. Then he left Weaver in after the walk to Clark, even though he probably should have come out before the walk. But last night put it over the top. Somehow, Erickson gets lucky and junk balls his way through 6 scoreless innings despite throwing almost as many balls as strikes and he's left in when it obvious he's done. I know there are some things Tracy does well but he has got to go.

Don't know about career wise, but in the "small sample size" that represents this season, Saenz has a .385 avg (.928 OPS) against RHP. Choi on the other hand is .263/.807 against RHP. Just food for thought. Personally I'd leave Choi in because he's the hot hitter of the two right now, but it wouldn't shock me if the move was made. Career wise, I would expect Choi to have better numbers than Saenz vs RHP, but I'm not sure since I don't have the numbers in front of me.

Olmedo is a valuable player only when he's facing a lefty.

He at least could have sent Choi to the plate to see if Arizona would have brought in a LOOGY. Even if they didn't, Vasquez was tiring and Choi had hit a couple balls hard; so, it's not Vasquez was overmatching Choi that night.

That's about what I would have expected. Like I said, I wouldn't make the move but I don't have a problem if Tracy felt that was the move at that time. People keep complaining about Tracy (and I have at times), and yet they keep playing good under him for whatever reason. Sometimes they play a hunch and that gives us ammunition to use if they fail. I don't see often where they get the credit from a board such as this when it goes right. There's been a couple of times I've groaned when he brought Saenz in, and Saenz has delivered. The problem with pinch hitting is that whether the move is right or wrong, it's still probably wrong about 65 to 70% of the time. So as for me, I stopped worrying about the details and have tried these past two years to concentrate on the results. If the club becomes disorganized and Tracy loses his grip, then I'll complain.

Was surprised to see that Choi's recent surge has his OPS over .800 now. Scully was commending Wallach for helping Choi and it looks as though his swing is more compact now. Hope it sinks in and he turns things around.

On other fronts, looks like Beltre (Adrian of course) is back to his old ways again so far this year. He almost always got off to a slow start except last year. He's under .250 with only a few walks (3 last time I saw) and very little in the Slug category. He still may turn it around, but so far this is playing out like I've theorized in other threads.

So, your starting 3B is down for a few months, and you backup was just DFA'ed -- who is this guy that was plucked from the Mex leagues?

Mike Edwards wasn't from the Mexican league was he? I'm assuming your referring to someone else that I haven't heard about. I could be wrong though.

The little I know about Oscar Robles is that he has much better defensive versatility than Nori but may or may not be as talented at 3B. I've heard some indications that his offensive upside is utility man level, which would be an improvement over Nori so far this year but the team apparently liked his approach this spring for what little that's worth. I really feel bad for Nakamura. He desperately needs some time to adjust to MLB pitching but the Dodgers can't give it to him right now.

What an odd thing: someone who you know you like (Robles) but you have play in the Mex league instead of your own AAA team. I was hoping, btw, that droping Nori meant that Myrow may be given a shot. Guess not.

Is Nori going to take an assignment at LV? I can't imagine any team claiming him right now.

It is too bad; he was a dominating player in Japan.

another nice come from behind victory for the blue! nice to see choi really get it going. after sanders hit his second i thought oh great were going get waxed, went to the kitchen for a bit and came back to find us up 9-7...wow.

you are guys hearing charlie steiner? i was not too estatic about him doing the dodger games and i really do not like him on the pregame on fsw, but he calls a real nice game. i much like him over the previous...

well i was there, right smack dab in the middle of the LF pavilion. what a motley crew!!! beach ball heaven felt much like a raider game more than a dodger game. at one point i looked over to my friends wife, we both went with the wifes and kids, and the sheer look of terror on her face. i think she could not wait to get out of there. crowd went wild when the two guys went on the field, followed by about 30 security guard who promptly played pile on the idiot. the the crowd got angry and pour the field with tons of trash, not a pretty sight.
anyway much fun esp for $2. brough back memories of 1969,1970 for me. now my kid is that old watching the game with me!

The Dodgers are considering ending the $2 promo. What are pavilion seats anyway? $8.00? You can't convince me that there were 4,000 *******s who wanted to go to a Dodger game but couldn't because they didn't have the extra six bucks.

Since Wallach got him to shorten his stroke, he's been amazing. As bad as his start was, his OPS is now over .900 and suddenly the Penny/Choi deal is looking real good with the way Penny has pitched. Keeping fingers crossed that Penny can stay healthy and Choi can continue with the new approach.

$6 for Pavillion seats. The Tueday deal saves you a whopping $4. That's not even enough to pay for parking or buy a beer.

It's a beautiful thing to watch Choi finally start to meet peoples expectations and to hear his critics shutting up finally. It's also a beautiful thing to hear those Heep Sop Choi chants at the Stadium every time he comes up to bat.

Maybe I'll get a chance to chant along with them at the June 1st game (assuming he plays). I just got confirmation that a company (vendor) has invited two of us from the hospital to go to the Cubs game. They're having a tailgate party at 5pm and then the game starts at 7pm. Should be a fun evening!
