Historical database issues go here

Bud this one popped up in v25 so may well have been fixed since but can't get to the spreadsheet to check just for now.

Howard Ross seems to come into the game with the name "Harold". The ID seems off as well, showing ross--00har

POB should be Ravenna, OH and DOB 04/23/1903. He is, according to BBRef, a lefty.

No red stats for 2024 stat leaders on players profiles

Curt Schilling starts the 1988 season with the Orioles minor leagues, but he was with the Red Sox still. He was traded, along with Brady Anderson, to the Orioles in July 88 for Mike Boddicker.

The other two pieces are with their appropriate teams, but Schilling isn't.

The transaction database has Schilling signing as an amateur free agent with Boston on 4/4/1988. Where is he in your game on that date?

For the record, this is when starting a historical game with start year 1988. I don't play with historical transactions so I don't know how it happens in other scenarios.

So when you start a game with start year 1988:
It starts with 3-31 date and Schilling is in the Baltimore system (Rochester Red Wings)
In real life to start 1988 he was with New Britain

Also, he didn't sign as an amateur free agent, he was drafted in the 86 January draft (they don't do that anymore) so as of January 1988 he was in the Red Sox system. He didn't get to Baltimore (ever, not before) until July 88.

Both the BOS's and BAL's 1988 minor league stat lines for him in the db had a "1" as their Stint code. I changed BAL's to "2" and we can see if that gets him to BOS as the initial place to be on a game start.

There is a weird issue with some of the historical minor teams where the game doesn't seem to recognize them.

To demonstrate:
Start a game in 1977. Go look at Tommy Lasorda's retired player profile. Hover over the team name in his stats and you'll see it show you the full name EXCEPT for the Montreal Royals and his 1945 and 1946 minor league teams. If you go export the stats, only his Dodger, Athletics major league stats export and his Denver Bears minor league stats. The rest of those teams that won't show a name disappear from his history.

It's like the game isn't recognizing these names as existing in the database.

Is this on a new game with the current patch applied? There was another issue that was just corrected [- Fixed historical minors players not being assigned to teams if that setting is selected]. That is the kind of issue where the game is not recognizing the team. Hoping a side effect of the just released patch will also fix this. If not, I'll log it and have Lukas check the Team files. Just want to check the last box that it is still happening with the latest release. thx

Nope, still happens.

1945-1953 stats for Lasorda will show on his page but don't "show a team" when you hover and they wont' export.

Greenville Spinners (1946)
Schnecadty Blue Jays (Spelling may be off) 1948

None of these years will export and re-import and when you hover over them in his stats they don't show a team name.

Something looks odd with Roy Clunk's (clunk-001jam) real life stats. His BB-Ref page shows only OF as a position, but he imported with pitching stats.

Also would you still like a list of players with fake pitching stats? I didn't see a response to my last list of 5.

John Fitzgerald (fitzge007joh) historical stats in the game say he played with Louisville in 1891, it's wrong in reality he played with the Boston Reds.

Edit: Forget it... I think it's because you had to assign the players of some teams to other teams to make their stats available...
