Started a standard start-of-2025 game ... and if you look at the history of the Baltimore Orioles, and if you click on any season prior to 1954 (i.e., when they were still the St. Louis Browns, the history index page is completely empty, instead of listing the players ...

... and, weirder still, if you scroll down on that page to the listings of the Team Batting and Team Pitching leaders, it shows "Yorger Bautista" for every category.

(FYI, Yorger seems to be a 17-year-old LF for the present-day Mariners DSL team.)

This is true for any Browns/Orioles season prior to 1954. They're all empty.

Just noticed something else ... Browns players are also missing from season leaderboards.

Example: in 1922, George Sisler led the AL with a .420 average, and Ken Williams led the AL with 39 home runs and 155 RBI.

However, if you call up the league history, and click on AL for 1922 ... it is showing Ty Cobb as the league AVG leader at .401, Tilly Walker as the HR leader at 37, and Bobby Veach as the RBI leader with 126. Sisler and Williams are nowhere to be found on the leaderboard, even though they are in the game and will be found if you search for them.

POSSIBLE CLUE AS TO THE ISSUE? ... in past iterations of OOTP, the Browns were abbreviated as "SLA" ... but here their abbreviation is "SL3" ... is that part of the problem?

Bud, these might already have been fixed as I notice I'm working off the patch 51 MiLB Master csv but wanted to raise anyway.

The rookie year for John "Speed Boy" Reese seems to be later in OOTP than it should be. In the game, he is listed as 1929; however, IRL his first NeL season was with AC and Hilldale in 1918.

On the other hand, Jacinto Roque seems to come in early. In the DB he has 1929 for his rookie year but IRL didn't start playing until 1940 in Mexico.

Ameal Brooks YOB should be 1907.

Buddy Burbage POB Salisbury, MD not NC.

For your mod you could add Havana as Ramon Bragana's POB

Might be worth a look, if not fixed already.

For Reece, there are two distinct records. The reese-002joh was mistakenly coded as African and had the nickname of the other one - but his 1929-only stats are fine. The one you were looking for is: reese-003joh and his info was updated about a year ago and looks good (stats back to 1918).

Jose Roque, whose 1929 stats those were, has been created.

Brooks YOB fixed.

DB actually has MD for Salisbury already.

Emil Yde's (ydeem01 / yde---001emi) PoB is currently empty on the Master file, but is listed on BR as Great Lakes, IL. Great Lakes is a naval installation, which Wikipedia states is "near North Chicago". Yde's SABR bio states that his father worked at the installation as well, so we can probably put North Chicago as his PoB.

In your research - did the issue only manifest in the QuickStart MLB current season option? All historical games were fine?

Landsdowne ... standard start for 2025 season. It didn't happen if I tried a historical start using the 2024 season, which leads me to believe that the problem is exclusive to the 2025 season files. (Which means I should have posted this to the 2025 thread; my bad. I also started separate thread for it.)

Also: the problem exists for Orioles/Browns seasons 1875-1881; if you click on those seasons in the Orioles' team history, you get blanks ... then, starting in 1882, clicking on a season in the Orioles' history will produce the Browns with all stats and players, but only until 1912 ... starting in 1913, clicking on a season produces the blanks again, for every year until 1954.

Negro League players Eli (juranel01 / juran-000eli) and Johnny Juran (juranjo01 / juran-000joh) both have an empty birthplace. Both are listed as being born in Pratt City, Alabama, which (as correctly noted on brownla02 Larry Brown's entry) is now part of Birmingham.
