Sooner or later, team chemistry finally comes together.
The Giants put together one of their best months since i have been GM of this team. They went 17-11 for August which puts them 10 games under .500. A little too late for my team, but a chance at .500 for the season would be pretty good after the awful start we had. Can we get there? We shall see...

September 1904
I am so proud of this team.
After a horrible start, the New York Giants go 15-11 for September and 5-1 for a short October to finish only 2 games under .500. Combined for the last 3 months of the 1904 season , the Giants went 37-23. Pretty darn good. We finished with the most runs scored in the NL and the highest OBP. Even the rotation settled down a little and did the jobs they needed to do. Thats the good news that we have something to build on for 1905. The bad news...because we finished in the position that we did...im going to miss getting the jewel of the 1905 draft. Some guy who will probably never amount to anything in the majors anyway. He goes by the name of Tyrone...last name Cobb!! The Washington Senators will have the first pick. Damn! Maybe ill make a trade. Anyway...a great finish for the 1904 NYG! Will post the playoff results and awards soon....

yeah...i thought i would make a small rule change...because 5 years should be enough time to make the playoffs at least once...for every year i make the playoffs i get one extra year with the team im managing...until after 5 years then you guys will tell me where im going next...
still have 2 years left with the New York Giants until 1906...

1904 Playoffs
The St. Louis Browns are the winners of the 1904 World Series.
For the 3rd time in 4 years, the Brooklyn Superbas make it to the big show, and again, they cant get over the hump...losing to the Browns in 6 games.

1904 Awards
Maybe some nice awards will light a fire under this team for 1905.
Sam Mertes and Fielder Jones picked up Gold Gloves for LF and CF respectively. But the real surprise for me was Mike Grady being named NL MVP! These two guys will get a little Xmas bonus in their stockings tonight. I will personally give them each $20!!! What??? Don't you guys know how much $20 was worth in 1904?? LOL

1904 Draft
As i expected, Ty Cobb goes to the Washington Senators.
Maybe he will suck early on and WAS might want to trade him. Yeah...right...Ty Cobb suck? Uhhhhh...NO! They got Eddie Ciccote also. The Sens might be rebuilding now, but not for long. We picked 8th in the draft and i settled on Del Howard. He is listed as 1B, but im going to use him as a utility player. Mickey Doolan looked like a strong SS, so i took him with the 2nd pick.

1905 Pre Season
The PP have us listed at 7th in the NL for the 2nd straight year.
We finished 5th last year and i truly believe we are better than that. This team will play hard this year after a strong finish last year. We are now in Year 4 of 5! Current End Year: 1906 No playoffs yet. But maybe, this could be the year. So lets say hello to... THE 1905 NEW YORK GIANTS!!!

April 1905
I said it before and i will say it again.
I love it when i make a good draft choice. Even though April was a short month, Del Howard picked up ROTM! This kid might turn out to be something.

The fans didnt like this move, but i had to do something with Red Donahue.
He just wasnt cutting the mustard. So i shopped him and the Pittsburgh Pirates were willing to give me Noodles Hahn. Hahn was listed as a reliever, but he has the stamina to be a starter. Donahue just kept on giving me losing numbers and i think Hahn will give me some winning numbers.

Not as slow as usual out of the gate, but i think this team might just be ready to win.
Sam Mertes went down with an injury which hurt a lot. He will back in a month or so. We started 6-8 for the year so if we can stay healthy and strong, who knows where we will end up? MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!!

May 1905
A winning month was what this team needed.
We went 15-13 for May, and are now at .500 for the season. We are 1.5 GB of the Boston Beaneaters for 3rd place, which is a pretty good place to be. The Giants are 2nd in the NL in Starter ERA and 2nd in OBP. Have to feel pretty good about our chances going into June.

June 1905
As much as i liked Freddy Parent, Rabbit Robinson and Emil Batch were doing better things at SS.
I needed a little bullpen help, so i sent Parent to the Eaters of Beans for Johnny Lush. A top of the line reliever which i think that can really bolster the bullpen. A month that kind of drove me back to reality. 12-15 for June and were are now 3 games under .500 and 5 GB of 3rd. The 2nd half of this season should be really interesting as i sent a lot of my weaker relievers down to the minors and brought up some of my hitters to the lineup. I have realized that you cant play 2015 baseball in 1905! Totally different game back then.

July 1905
A .500 month for July and yet we are still only 4 GB of the Boston Beaneaters for 3rd place.
We still have a shot...if only we can get over the hump. The rotation is doing okay and the lineup, with the exception of Emil Batch is doing their jobs. Two months left and anything can happen. No trades at the deadline. I stood pat.

August 1905
The month of August was not kind to the New York Giants.
We went 11-16, however, we are only 4.5 GB of the Brooklyn Superbas and Boston Beaneaters for 3rd place in the NL. We need to put together a winning streak and get ourselves up there into the playoffs. Can we get ourselves over the hump? Will the teams above us falter? Will my Miami Dolphins ever win a Super Bowl while Im still alive??? (To Be Continued...)

September-October 1905
To finish off the season, we find that my rookie Del Howard is the 1905 National League Batting Champion!
I think he will get ROTY and maybe even MVP. But the New York Giants were disappointing again. We went a combined 14-16 for September and October and we finish in 7th place in the NL. We Just cant get it together. This team has talent, but the chemistry is not there. I will a playoff report coming up soon...

Playoffs 1905
The city of Chicago was the center of the baseball world as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Chicago Cubs 4 games to 3!
They are the 5th different team to win the world series and the 4th American League team to do it. The AL Leads the NL 4-1 in championships.

Off Season 1905
There were no awards for any of my Giants.
I made a trade. Harry Bemis was a fine catcher, but i had Mike Grady, and i didnt need two star catchers. I sent Bemis to the Pittsburgh Pirates for 3B Bill Bradley. I was a little weak there and i felt he could give me some help at that position.

Draft 1905
The Draft was a little tough this year.
I took Ed Karger for some starting pitching help and Charlie Rhodes to bolster the bullpen.
