Beta testing isn’t really a fun opportunity to play the game early; it’s a chance to help the developers by playing a buggy version of it and playing to root out those bugs (yes, early versions of games are often buggy too; beta testers are rarely if ever able to sniff everything out; that said, I imagine that 23 would have been far, far buggier if they hadn’t done the beta testing they did do, given that as it was they had to push the release back).

It’s often frustrating and not always a net good time. Ideally you want a dedicated QA team to handle that, although OOTPD’s system of using volunteers is OK.

Dang, I never seen so many, I would assume grown men complain about a game that’s a few bucks over trivial things. This is still a great game and the only baseball simulator worth playing in the App Store. We should be supporting this game 100%. The guys here are very responsive to our feedback and questions. Try doing that with any other game, you wouldn’t even get a glance from the dev team.

Couldn't agree more! Did I want this game two months ago? Sure I did, but I didn't go straight to assuming the devs had something against me and are intentionally trying to screw me over to get more $.

Thank you for trying to make a great product for the App Store! Ready whenever it comes out!

Still…

… can’t say the OOTP Go launch date is good for players or for their business. Too bad they cannot get it out close to opening day.

Sometimes I wonder if beta testing is worth it. When OOTPGO was released, I kept find important features missing or not working. Either the testers are missing it, or more likely the devs are not listening to the beta testers.

As a beta tester, I'll note that OOTP Go was a brand new animal. So, it was a challenge to be comprehensive in testing. As for the new version, it's looking real good so far.

daves, was there a specific bug(s) that persisted in the old version? I'll be glad to look into it.

I remember the corrupted saves that really were frustrated at launch where a saved career would say it was unable to be opened and it made you have to restart several times. Eventually they fixed it and some of the old ones you could use again.

I really hope that gets situated before launch.

No, it's not dead in the water. I'm playing the beta and things look real good so far.

Not sure if same for beta testers but from what I understand a common them from QA/bug testers people they don't want to play the game they tested afterwards

To me that's the only issue. Everything else I could deal with. But the corrupted saves, killed at least 3-4 franchises, up to as recently as 2 weeks ago. I want to give it another chance. And I can live with just about any problem. But when you put a couple of months into something, just to lose it, that's what completely kills it for me

I'm hoping they added a way to backup your save files so at least you have something to go back to if the file corrupts. It looks like they had something like that in the code that would pop up if you kept trying to load a corrupted file (not sure if anyone else saw that) but it wouldn't work. Hopefully they worked that all out on this one

Can you give us any insights, or is that not allowed?

Any chance they added minors for historical leagues or commish mode?

The original was missing shop player. Now I just like to see commisioner mode.
