Allow me to sort players on my shortlist however I want (i.e. useful if you want to make a "Big Board" with draft prospects).
One way to do it is to be able to 'drag and drop' in the same way we already do in the Scouting Task list. In this way you can rank your prospects however you want. There could just be a button on your shortlist that allows you to into "Custom Order" mode, which shows palyersin your custom ranked order and allows you to move them around. You can then toggle off "Custom Order" (and have it save your order) to sort them by anything else like always.Or I dunno, that's just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are many other ways that could allow for the introduction of custom lists. When purely watching games, speed up the post strike out animation (where the infielders through the ball around the infield) or give us an option to skips. Same with the end of inning running on and off the field. An option to speed those two events up would make for a much more engaging viewing experience,

Get rid of the 3D animation of teams celebrating like they just won the World Series after every single playoff win.

Hitting a key doesn't fix the fact that it's unrealistic. Some teams don't even dogpile after winning a series, only after the World Series. Having teams do it after every playoff game is just dumb.

Turn it off in game settings, in the in game lineup screen.

For players like me who play every game out, it would be fantastic to make it so that each player had a unique name and number on the field — including customized fonts where applicable (i.e., if we use third-party uniform editors).
Also wonderful would be to greatly increase the number of play animations for each outcome, such that, for instance, a high fly ball that the OF is tracking, tracking, tracking, could just possibly clear the wall for a home run, and not be caught 100% of the time. Realize that not many users play games out, but for those who do, these would be great additions. |

I don’t think that will happen until the agreement with Konami expires and even then I wouldn’t be surprised if *** just plain refuses to deal with, how do I say this, a Korean company.

And given the popularity of PYS and Pawapuro in Japan (the latter of which I'm a fan of), which are made by Konami, I personally don't see that happening anytime soon.

I swear to god nobody ever reads what I write, so I'll just keep copy/pasting what I've been writing about Konami at other places, part of which I've written MULTIPLE TIMES here, again until someone maybe gets it:
I have been a (by real name) credited national-level researcher on Football Manager since 2007. Konami is a famously litigious company, and I've seen first-hand evidence of it. For a time, Football Manager, which is of course THE #1 football/soccer management simulator with a bullet, was told that not only it had to have fake names and fake team names for Japanese teams and players in its games, but it also had couldn't even have real team names or player names in the research team's own internal database, which included things that intentionally wouldn't be extracted to the playable in-game database. Why such a severe restriction? Because Konami had an exclusive license for games involving the J-League and the Japanese national team, and there would be legal complaints if even one player was in Sports Interactive's data. Football Manager is a game that has sold 2+ million copies in a year and its company is owned by Sega, and they were still bullied by Konami into doing everything they possibly could to make sure no notable Japanese players accidentally snuck into multiple releases of FM. This, even though the company & game has always had a license with the international soccer players' union, FIFPRO, which theoretically means those players are fine to include even if/when clubs aren't. I suspect something similar has happened here. Konami either had or now has an exclusive license to player and team data involving [league redacted], so at first they told OOTP Developments to get rid of the NBP from OOTP23 or else, and then they may well have followed up with "oh by the way that includes any active saved games users already may be playing in this version." Konami is a group that has taken on the similarly litigious owners of the Augusta National Golf Club, who runs The Masters, and won. See also: Konami's treatment of Hideo Kojima when he told them he wanted to work on his own. One of the most famous video game creators of all time and they treated him in a way that was technically legal but ethically/morally disgusting. It is quite possible that Konami decided to let OOTP's use of the *** slide until it either A) Got too big, or B) Was purchased by another Asian company and at that point they decided to push the big red "F YOU" button that they like to hit so often. And then they hit it again when they decided OOTP just deleting the *** from new game startup options wasn't enough. They will go after anybody. Bigger or smaller. They will go after their own current or former employees while staying just barely on the correct side of the law. They are, in layman's terms, Bullies and Jackasses. |

My biggest suggestion for 24 at this point is to drop the slogan "Play it your way

Yes, you can hit enter, but if you are watching the game as if it is one TV, you don't want to have to hit enter to move things along. You just want to sit with your beer and watch your team perform.
I get that this isn't that big of a deal, but it be nice if you could toggle off the extended strikeout and between innings animations (or at least the option to choose how long the animation continues). |

Franchise Accomplishments
On the team's home page, I'd like to see a tally of league championships and world championships.
Also in the team's history index, a listing of manager's and their records for that team. |

Oh crap, this reminds me of a great suggestion for the game!
When you load the first screen, it asks a question: “Do you believe in science? I mean, like basic science? Like, if scientists in a particular scientific field say something is real, do you believe that, or do you ‘do your own research’ so you can ignore what people who are smarter than you think?”. Then, if you answer no, the game locks itself up and can never be played again. You’ll need to uninstall it completely, repurchase the game under an entirely new Steam or FastSpring account, and answer correctly. Also I’m all for answering “no” to that first question making MLB relocate to Russia and changing all the player names, but IMO that should be in the game options.

Add mass edit functionality for Fan Interest, Fan Interest Modifier, Fan Loyalty, Market Size... where you could set it for each team in the league at once.
Obviously, the image is bootleg, but it could function something like this, where we could input/change it for as many teams as we want at once... |

FWIW you *can* export a lot of things, I believe the fan info being one of them, edit them using MySQL (or CSV if you’re a masochist), and re-import them. That’s pretty advanced I know but I also feel like OOTP has a zillion options which already, I think, makes the game too daunting for a lot of people to buy. Perhaps it has the side effect of making data nerds who otherwise wouldn’t care about baseball want to pick it up… and come to think of it I think I’d prefer the data nerds to the old timey “why are you putting the 3 batter rule in!? Back in my day you could face one batter AND WE LIKED IT THAT WAY” crowd so I guess I just struck down my own objection…
