It was a good day to swing the lumber and no lead was ever safe until Brett Lawrie hit a two-run walk-off blast to give the Jays a 12-11 win over the Orioles. Franklin Guttierez also went deep. WP - Carter Capps (3-0) LP - Mike Gonzalez (3-3) Record - 50-48 |

Another day for the hitters as the Jays downed the Orioles 14-11. Anthony Gose had a HUGE day, going 5 for 5 with a walk, a homer, 4 RBI and 4 runs scored. Jose Reyes also took one out (back-to-back with Gose.) WP - David Phelps (8-6) Save - Rex Brothers (28) LP - Homer Bailey (4-11) Record - 51-48 Toronto is now 1.5 back of Boston for the division and .5 back of the Yankees for the Wild Card. |

Not as crazy as the last couple of games as Hyun-Jin Ryu held the Orioles in check and the Jays won 6-1. After reaching base six straight times yesterday, Anthony Gose did the same four straight times today (a double and three walks) before striking out in the 8th. Jesus Montero got a homer in his first at bat off the D.L.. Carlos Quentin got his first as a Jay. WP - Hyun-Jin Ryu (4-8) LP - Steve Johnson (8-10) Record - 52-48 Boston and New York both won. Anthony Gose was the AL Player of the Week, hitting .769(!) with a dinger and 6 RBI. Wilin Rosario of the Rockies won for the NL.
The Dunedin Blue Jays (A) topped their league's power rankings. The Jays jumped to #10 on theirs. Last edited by rpriske; 09-29-2013 at 02:59 PM. |

The Blue Jays continue with six straight wins since the break beating the Rays 9-4. Sean Rodriguez got two big dingers while Tyler Moore, Pablo Sandoval and Brett Lawrie got one each. WP - Colby Lewis (9-7) LP - David Price (8-9) Record - 55-48 Toronto now has a half game lead on Boston for the AL East crown! Last edited by rpriske; 10-02-2013 at 03:17 PM. |

The win streak came to a crashing halt as the Rays trounced the Jays 10-0. This was an ugly game as the Rays kept stealing and trying to steal when up 8-0 and then 10-0. A frustrated Jays staff kept 'sending them messages' but they never got the hint. Possible bad blood? Pablo Sandoval left the game with a twisted knee but the doctors say he will be fine in a couple of days. WP - Matt Moore (11-6) LP - David Phelps (8-7) Record - 55-49 Boston lost and New York won so the Jays are still in first but both the Red Sox and Yankees are back by a half game. |

With the AL East as close as it is, a series against the Yankees is incredibly important. Add to that, the fact that this is the first meeting of the two clubs since the big trade. Jose Bautista DID get a homer vs his old club, but the Jays had the last laugh as they beat the Yanks 11-4. Sean Rodriguez, filling in for a sore Pablo Sandoval, his a massive grand slam off Fernando Rodney. WP - Hyun-Jin Ryu (5-8) LP - Paul Maholm (9-11) Record - 56-49 Boston stayed within a half game. New York is back by a game and a half. |

The Blue Jays lit up Wandy Rodriguez, as the Yankees left him out there to rot. Toronto hit five home runs (Tyler Moore, Brett Lawrie, Pablo Sandoval, Carlos Quentin and Jose Reyes) while Anthony Gose went 5 for 5 with 3 doubles and 2 RBI! Toronto won 9-2, with all 9 runs earned off Rodriguez. WP - Danny Salazar (7-5) LP - Wandy Rodriguez (7-9) Record - 57-49 Boston kept pace at a half game back. Alexi Ogando's debut as a Blue Jay turned into another Toronto win as they dropped the Yankees 8-4. Pablo Sandoval and Anthony Gose both went deep for the power-mad Jays. WP - Alexi Ogando (5-5) Save - Steve Delabar (2) LP - Kyle Drabek (1-3) Record - 58-49 Boston lost and now the Jays have a game and a half lead. (The magic number is 55 so there is still a lot of baseball left!) |

Lots of good performances in the minor league ranks!
Jorge Flores was named player of the week in the Gulf Coast League. Colton Butler was player of the week for the Appalachian League. The Buffalo Bisons (AAA) topped the IL Power Rankings and the Dunedin Blue Jays (A) matched that feat! The Blue Jays rose to #4 in the MLB Power Rankings... the top AL team! Jered Weaver was nearly perfect today, retiring the Jays in order until giving up a Pablo Sandoval double in the 7th. The Angels won 4-0. WP - Jered Weaver (10-5) LP - Colby Lewis (9-8) Record - 58-50 Boston lost on the Jays' off day and again today so Toronto has a two game lead despite losing. |
