I really love this Red Sox team.

At least it would be the best team in one league sweeping the best team in the other, not the best team in one league sweeping an above-average team from the other.

With 32 teams, what do you think would be a sensible division alignment? 4 per division or 8?

of course, they could keep three divisions per league and stick one team in AL West and the other in the AL East or Central.

It's over, and clearly the best team won. I admire the Red Sox, but to me the only good thing about them winning the World Series is how quickly they did it, thus sparing me from having to watch any more of those stupid commercials. Thank God for that.

Well, the good news is that there won't be a game tomorrow to interfere with me watching the Broncos on MNF.

The better team won and a fitting end to my season as a baseball fan since my favorite two teams, the Dodgers choked the last month of the season and the Yankees couldn't make it past the first round again. Damn. I hate the Red Sox!!!

Well the Red Sox have moved into the Number 1 position on my hate list...at least until Spring Training when the Yankees resume that role.

Congrats Sox fans.

Jeanie Z. has moved from "pretty annoying and useless" to "outright hatred" with her insistence that Mike Lowell talk about his contract plans while doing the MVP interview.

There's a time and place for that, and that wasn't it.

Nice class from him to not sneer and blow her off.

You know, in my upcoming dynasty...I've spent three years testing the whole eight division alignment and the thing I've noticed -- especially when you allow 16 teams in the playoffs -- is that there is a lot of parity. So much so that I don't even like it.

I mean, I can rationalize it pretty easily. But...with teams under .500 (80-82, usually) making the playoffs -- though not actually getting super far -- but it's just not very interesting and even with an unbalanced schedule, you just have too many bad teams winning their divisions and so, I think I'm going to realign this coming season into a different format, I'm not sure yet whether it'll be 4 divisions with 2 wild cards or three divisions with 1 wild card.

If it were real life? I'd have to say that it ought to be 4 divisions of 8, allow the 4 division champs to advance to the Division Series and add a wild card round that includes four wild card teams.

But since OOTP doesn't allow that format, it's not an option in my fictional scenario.

I agree. I was cheering on the Sox in the last few innings to end this stinker and bring on Hot Stove Season.

also, I was happy for Lowell, one of my favourite players. Good to see a guy who was deemed to be done a few years ago, not only have a great season but win the WS MVP.

Me too, even though I had been rooting for the Rockies all postseason. I really didn't want to drag out the inevitable.

My upcoming dynasty's going to have 32 in four divisions of 8. Only the division champs make the playoffs.

Wow. Five years ago, if you told me I'd get to see the Red Sox win the World Series, I'd have scoffed.

Now they've done it twice. A nice goodbye to have as I pack to leave Boston for overseas.

The only thing I can remember about the 2004 WS was Renteria's jab back to Foulke for the final out, where as at least in this one there were a few more moments (the seven run innings, the Rockies coming back to within 1 on a couple of occassions). I suppose the problem with '04 was that it followed straight on from the ALCS comeback that was a damn memorable series, and although we did the comeback again this year it somehow didn't feel quite the same.

Hard to believe that the Rockies had the worst record of the '07 qualifiers and put up more of a fight than the Cards did in '04 with their 105-57 record!!

That whole FOX crew should be used in inter-dimensional testing. If we never see them again then at least they died contributing to science.

What was Mark Grace on last night?

Congratulations fellow Sox fans... two in four years; I guess this second one ends the Curse of Curtis Leskanic.
