In a must win situation, Goose Island starter Zach Fitzmaurice put his team on his back and carried them to a much needed win. He tossed an impressive 8 innings, giving up just 2 hits and no runs, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts before turning things over to closer Jalen Johnson, who would give up just 1 hit in his 1 inning of work and no runs. On the offensive side, it was sparse but just enough as an RBI single by Miguel Romero in the bottom of the fourth ended up being the only run of the game as Goose Island took game 5 by a score of 1-0
