After that you can continue in the same gameworld you've simmed in, just with a 'new' coach.
So does that mean if you somehow get through 25-30 seasons in Path to Glory mode you can pick up where you left off with the same league history you've accumulated through those same 25-30 seasons as a new GM/coach?

That said, as a recent converter to the online game I cringe at the idea of an any type of "us vs. them", "online vs. single player game" mentality expressed here. I know us online guys certainly aren't presenting this as such.

However, I've noticed it's been repeated ad-nauseam by Sebastian and Markus that FHM is a small portion of a small company, with only two programmers working on FHM right now.

So...I ask the single-player guys this: what have you all done to grow the FHM franchise? Have you forwarded the announcement email to your hockey-loving friends? Have you posted the announcement release on whatever online social networks you frequent? Have you raved about the new release? Have you promoted the game on as many hockey-specific websites and forums as possible?

Because I know the guys in our online league have. They've been on Twitter, Reddit, Facebook, Operation Sports, Hockey'sFutures, etc., trying to promote the product and generate interest, both last year as a GM recruitment tool for FHM2 (despite it's admitted online issues) and more recently as a way to try to help generate sales for FHM3.

https://twitter.com/iNHL_info/status/779382609562505217

So, as opposed to making fun or dismissing something you don't feel is important *to you*, or posting bull**** memes, why don't we all do what we can to generate interest/excitement/purchases to force/allow Sebastian and the guys at OOTP/FHM to hire more help.
As a guy who is always on OperationSports you're exaggerating this.

The last post on the site about FHM was for FHM 2 in May. And the last one from your league was an advertisement to get new members, not exactly a push to buy a product you enjoy.

When it comes to saying things like you wrote in your post, understand most people will roll their eyes because they know it's not entirely true.

I disagree. Online the only thing that really matters is winning and very un-realistic things happen only because coaches want to win.

I am looking forward to this but not sure if I will get it right as it comes out as FM is out about the same time. I love the fact that we get the official license!!! Will the license cover historical mode and things like the old WHA?

And before we make it bad and people rightfully complain about it, we remove it until compatible saves are possible and we have the time to make this mode good. I totaly understand when you are not happy about it but I think it is fair to not have it in and you not buying it then have it bad in it, you pay money for it and it does not work.
Chicken or egg.
Would more people be playing online leagues if the online leagues worked better in FHM2?

Very disappointing to hear.
I will not be purchasing. But if I hear that FHM 4 has online leagues, ala OOTP, I'll reconsider.

Regarding historical NHL stuff I canīt say at this point.

1. No.

2. No, but that is the kind of feature we want to add in the future. Combined with the great promo days back from OOTP 3 times, that was the stuff I loved.

Yes. Or, if you are e.g. not happy with your career and want something new, you can retire at any time and continue with a new GM/Coach in the same universe. Or start fresh of course.

Disappointed about the lack of online play. So moving onto the other way I play - Are there improvements to historical play? Or is all focus (or almost all focus) on current season?

At the moment I'm not sure about buying this version

Well I'm glad you guys are focusing on the meat of the game to make sure you get it right. IMO, until that is perfected as best as possible, all other features suffer as a result. Get that right and the game sells by itself. You know the online community will always be there so best to make them happy when you're ready to re-enter that market.

My question is one of a more game breaking nature. I only play fictional leagues and I just couldn't get through a season because I didn't like how any of the preset league options were in regards to the playoffs. Are the playoffs at least somewhat customizable? For example, having a 20 team league with 16 making the playoffs and only 4 missing is just stupid. I'd like a simple option to either choose from preset playoff scenarios you guys create (4 from each conference, 3 rounds) or to be able to build it myself. And not just that but if the league expands it'd be nice if you could then change it to another preset playoff setup.

Also, haven't really seen any mention of Facegen, are the jersey templates we used for FHM2 still compatible for FHM3? Or is it a new template?

Excellent news and excellent work! Can't wait for the release.

Please please forgive me if these things have been answered. I'm trying to read this thread at work between prints and it's hard to read everything.

Will the game be readily available on the App Store or will that come later? I have an iTunes gift card burning a hole in my wallet.

I don't care about online play, but I love to play in the minors. I have an OOTP baseball double-A fictional league that has been going strong since 1932. I love the functionality of it, expansion and so forth. I know that's a lot of programming to do and that team is much larger, so I understand if the minor league functionality in FHM3 isn't as developed, but I wanted to ask if there had been any improvements there.

For instance, when I first bought FHM2 my goal was to put an expansion team into the ECHL. When I realized I couldn't do that I created a new fictional league but it was playable only as a major league. I'd like to be able to create a fictional double-A league like I did in OOTP. Is this possible in FHM3? Or is it possible to expand the ECHL?

I'll be buying the game either way as it looks excellent to me, just thought I'd ask about these hopeful features.

Thanks for all the hard work!

Jason

I can confirm the old jersey templates still work fine with the facegen features. Same for logos and other things of that nature. Seems to be still the same format.

People that play fictional leagues (which is very popular) would need to re-enter their entire league into the new version. Otherwise all the hard work creating a fictional league is wasted.
Not telling you how to have fun, but when playing a sports sim becomes "work", maybe things need to be re-evaluated.

I have promoted it on twitter, talked about it on TBL, and did a little database work on the the first game.

Not sure what Madden has (never played it) and you canīt buy any apartment in FHM (or anything else not related to a hockey manager). But just because you donīt want to play such mode, maybe a lot of other user want to?

I repeat myself: the "huge number" you talk about are what, 5 people in this thread? Yes, they are loud and yes, I totally understand their frustration. But do you think we have 10 sales (then it would be a huge number)? Luckily we have a few more and even if they are not on this board, the are also a very important part of FHM.

Iīm happy that you support FHM but if you donīt "give a rats @$$ about redoing some lame NHL season", maybe FHM (at least at this point) is not the right game for you.

1. Well reading the comments and the fussing. Its way more than 5 people.

2. I now understand more about the path to glory. basically you have to learn how to be a GM. Ok I get it

3. With the non online version in 3 do you have at least export options so we can share our results. or is that part of the No online. seems to me this is a hell of a powerful program. seems real sad that we can only play by ourselves and not share it. ie the game file export would be a great add. so you can go back and see game box scores season after season.
If its already here PLEASE tell me how to get it to work.

4. with the new NHL package are you also including AHL,ECHL,SPHL and FHL.

Im not tryn to be a piss @$$ but I have such high hopes for this game. I hate to see it fall short.like i said its a very powerful program. with a lot of stats. seems a shame we cant share our league with the world.
