Advice on FA Draft Bidding Methods

I'm drafting the rules right now for my future online league, and I'm wondering about whether to use the in game OOTP4 bidding method or an open bidding process on a message board or something.

Some positives for using a message board would be less work for me, the commish, and also it eliminates the possibility of me gaining an advantage as the commish. Of course, I would not consciously cheat, but I wonder if I would still be affected by seeing other bids. At least, I have to be honest about it possibly affecting me. The less work for the commish is the major advantage however.

To prevent someone from outbidding someone else by bidding a small amount more, I'd make a restriction that all bids must be in 100,000 increments (or perhaps larger). One problem with a bid board I can see is that an owner could bid right before the bidding deadline and not let anyone make a counter offer.

Is using a "bidding board" better/worse than using the OOTP4 in-game method? Is the former easier for a commish to handle than the latter? and if so, is that really the only advantage? And to the league's I've seen that use this method, did it work? what problems have arisen? Does anyone have any tips on running the FA period for an online league?

The in-game method is no work for the commish if the GM's FTP the bids to you. An easy way to "be honest" as commish and GM is to make all of your bids before you "import" the others.

If you use a message board or some other similar method then you have to enter the bids one-by-one by hand.

lol, I completely forgot about the FA import option with the new patch. Thanks for the response.
