ABA League has 16 Openings for 1st Human Season

ABA (American Baseball Association), an OOTP 6 league, has 16 openings for its first season of human controlled ownership. The league was simmed over 100 years to its current time of 2005 to create a history that could be looked back on through Cato. All of the history is up besides the players, which will as soon as I buy some more webspace.

We sim 3 times a week, 10 days worth of sims. Sims are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Teams vary. Some teams are in giant markets, others are in tiny. Some teams are good, some not so good. You can use the History section as a reference when picking out a team if you are interested in joining.

I highly recommend downloading the file and checking out teams before you email me if you are interested in joining. Teams financials are going to vary, some are loaded, some are on the brink of bankruptcy.

If you are interested, you can email me at commish@ababaseball.net with the information that I require you to email me with, which can be found in the opening section on the home page. My AIM is abanetcommish, and if the mods don't mind, you could post here and I will contact you.

Website is http://www.ababaseball.net

3 teams reserved. Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Cleveland. If they accept, 13 spots will remain.

I agree, your site looks awesome. I browsed through the Cato briefly and noticed that you used historical players. Does that mean this will be a real player league?

Yes this is a real player league. I reserved the Brewers and look forward in this great league. I am sure it will become one of the top leagues out there. Just look at the history of the league already and not a single human sim has taken place. Not many leagues sim a history for the league and take the time to do such a great job with the website, so please join this league and let's get rolling with this awesome league.

I am not up on all of this sort of stuff, but are there glitches in Cato database, or just glitches in the OOTP engine. For whatever reason, I chose to look at the 1989 Los Angeles Dodgers, and Jeff Pico has the following line: 2 games pitched, 2 games started, 0.00 ERA, and a 0.7 innings pitched.

http://www.ababaseball.net/history/teams/la/1989.html

How does a pitcher start two games, let up no runs, and get pulled after hurling one-third of an inning each turn?

mkbdoe: Mike I got your email and the Pirates are reserved for you, just awaiting your response to my second email.

Michael Xavier: You are right about Pico. I went back in the Almanac for 89 and the stats were different. I'm pretty sure the Cato engine created the glitch, but it seems to be an isolated incident. Outside of an error here or there, the Cato database seems to be accurate.

Recruiting is going well. If the reserved teams accept the offers that have been sent we'll have 5 openings remaining.

Not looking to join but was looking through your history. Ruth didn't even crack 400 homers and ended his career with an injury at age 35. Pretty amazing.

That's a very solid looking league. I like the 100 year simmed history idea. Makes it fun to look back on the history of the league and see what your team has done in the past and some of the players the team had and such.

If you'd look at the owners page you'd see that they're already taken by Eric Hortness.

What's funnier is that I was looking at the Pirates, because I am the future Owner, Joe Gariagiola leads the team in All-Time HR's with like 368, hits with like almost 3,000 hits, games, and At-Bats

So, in the history of this league, you imported years, assigning the historical players to their original teams?

Michael Xavier: Players were imported in the debut years, but not to the original teams that drafted them.

4 spots remain not counting reserves.
