2 year contract for 4 years
Guy was signed by Chcago on 2/19/1929 for 18 million.
He played 1929 and 1930. Then in 1931 he contract showed he was signed through 1931. In 7/10/1931 he was traded. The season ended and I started the next season. He is not signed for the same amount through 1932. No mention of an extension signing in his career history. Just magically extended. How do these things get by the beta testers?

Extensions aren't listed in the career history... You'd have to check that team's Transaction News for the guy's original "contract year" to see if there was an extension signed.

Not much of a history report if it is missing that.
I signed in 29.. so, my contract expires in 1931. 2 years. On July 10, 1931, I get traded to Detroit. I see no contract extension listed in the team transactions for 1931. 1931 ends and 32 arrives and my contract is extended, but NO mention of it in the transaction news for 1932. You can see it at www.larrypc.com/29 replace the 29 with 30 or 31 or 32 to see the different years.

You never mentioned the player's name, you know.
![]() Actually, if you sign a two-year deal in '29, it expires in '30 (since you've played in '29 and '30)... and I see what happened. ![]()

Having extensions added to the player histories has been frequently requested. As is right now, I believe the only place those are listed is the league and team transactions pages. August 1 is when the CPU does all its extensions, so you can check that HTML page after that date in the game.
And what jmm8356 said since I did not address anything specific. ![]() EDIT - Yes, I "fixed" that noted below. Thank you for quoting it before I did and undermining what little credibility I have when trying to help ![]() Last edited by gmo; 12-23-2004 at 09:13 PM. |

Yes, they should be on the player's history for completeness sake.

![]() I'd also agree with sporr that noting extensions in the player's history would be nice, though in most cases, I usually figure it out by the absence of a "free agent contract" listing.

Ok, thanks. I still think it needs to be shown in the history.
Interesting thing about this is: This is a 1927 replay. I have several friends that play WiS baseball with me and they had picked A rookies in 1927 and I changed their name. I simulate the season every day and we follow our rookies. I am the Larry Anderson guy. I was surprised as hell when they signed me to the 18 million contract. I was one of the top 3 prospects, but, wow. The White Sox signed me, but the White Sox sucked. Their fielding was TERRIBLE and I did not have a good year. I was 2nd in K's though. They traded me to 1st place Detroit where I did better, as we made the playoffs. I was blown out by the Yankees in game 1, but shut them out in game 3. My most exciting moment was a game I was watching 'live'. I had a no-hitter through 7 innings, but I had walked several batters and the score was 2-2 with my team due up. With 2 outs, and no one on, I came to bat and hit a HR! We then scored 3 more insurance runs. The no-hitter was ruined the next inning, but there I was, heading out to the 8th with a no-hitter and I had just hit a HR to take the lead. I am anxious for my contract to expire to see what I make this time. I bet it won't be 18 million!

Something is still not right.
It is now the start of 1933. I am still on Detroit and my contract has been extended again with no mention of it in the transaction news. So, I signed a contract om Feburary of 1929 for 2 years, I almost 2 years for a team then was traded. So I am about to play my 5th year on a 2 year contract with no notice anywhere of any extension. It just happens. 1929 Chicago 1930 Chicago/Detroit 1931 Detroit 1932 Detroit What you say about the arb makes sense, but there is a bug where it reports this information.

Naah, you're just looking where it ought to be listed, instead of where it is.
![]() Each player gets three years of arbitration (at least), so after '31 and '32, 1933 is your third and final year of arbitration (assuming you stay in the bigs all year). Arbitration awards are listed in the League News Log and each team's Team News.

DET:Larry Anderson gets a new one-year contract worth $18,780,000 through salary arbitration.
Ok, thanks, there it is. But I still think it should be in the individual's history. Looking at it, you just have no idea what happened.
