Talk about giving up easy..
Robert Fulghum, SP. Been a pretty damn good starter for the Yankees. Finally decided to try Free Agency, after 4 1/2 with the D-Rays and 9 1/2 with the Yankees.. I look at his demands, as I always do with the Top players in Free Agency. His demands are 14,000,000 for 5 years. So, I'm thinking, he won't be signed until past Day 15. Second day comes... and he signs with the Giants for 10,800,000 for 4 years. Now, he does have Max loyalty, but still, you think he'd hold out a while?
![]() I'm not complaining, of course, I just thought it was interesting. I have guys sign for below what they ask all the time, but usually they take quite a while to do it. Anyone else have someone take that much less on the 2nd day? |

14 Mil seems like a lot for a player to ask for. At least, I don't think I've ever seen anyone ask for a salary like that in my leagues. By my recollection, they top out at around 12 Mil usually, but I usually only look at guys who I think about bidding on, and its usually not the most expensive guys. I have had guys sign for 14+ Mil, after the AI teams have bid up that high.
Is it possible that Fulghum, for whatever reason, demanded more money from your team than some others? Anyone know if that can happen? Either way, I wish guys would give in like that when I bid ![]() Dave
