Geez, that is really similar. Argh, I promise that was not intentional...

While I like simple logos, I had to rethink my position a little...

Actually it is very important to have something more than just simple designs. It is the dreamers who experiment and go beyond what has always been done that give us progress, not only in logos, but in life, too.

"Thinking out of the box" is good.

dbacks, keep "doing fancy, complex logos and graphics"...that way you will develop your graphics skills to their fullest.

I would never want to stifle your creativity and I was afraid that my comments might have that effect. That wasn't my intention when I posted it.
I just thought you would want the feedback.

I appreciate the feedback...

I guess I just need to look at who I am creating the logo for and what it's purpose is. I also agree that sometimes simpler is better, but there are some instances where a complex logo may not exactly be needed, but is more effective. I tend to believe that for sports, complex/fancy logos are usually more appealing to most people, but for things such as businesses, a logo should be as simple as possible (while maintaining it's effectiveness).

Unfortunately, a company such as Nike can get away with just a swoosh, but for the most part, you and I can't.

Actually what I have learned from school is that simpler is ALWAYS better, under the circumstances that all the intended information is conveyed clearly through the design, but sometimes a simpler design may not be sufficient enough to do so. I personally have a lot of trouble with this, just can't seem to cut out stuff that is unneccessary.

Dbacks, I don't think it's a big deal, if anything it just goes to show how advanced you are in logo making. Again, real nice logo.
