Unhappy crash after playing a game

I have been playing a standard league for a while. After about 15 seasons I started having a problem where, after I play (not sim) a game; sometimes it would crash and kick me out of the league. When I re-entered the league I noticed 1) sometimes it would count the game in the standings and player stats and sometimes not and 2) when I clicked on the box score for that game it would give me a box score for a game that exact date but the year before. This didn't really bother me too much but then it happened again but now it won't let me back in the league (I can get to the screen w/ the standings , which were accurate , but the player stat leaders in the right and left margins have nothing. When I click on anything it will pause ,then I get the "OOTP6.exe" box with the Microsoft Message saying I crashed.)
Now I am stuck .

Any ideas??

Turn in game sounds off would be my first guess, that should stop the crashes.

Without knowing all the details it sounds like the league has somehow gotten corrupted, you probably need to start over AND backup, backup and backup your league often.

as far as backing up our league is there an option for this in the game or do we have to do a copy and paste of our league into a backup folder, if so do we have to backup all the info in it or just parts of the folder?

My recommendation is to just "zip" the entire league folder up and store it in a safe location.

Exclamation Games Crashes part II

I'm using OOTP 5 and I noticed this just started happening to me too. It happens right when the browser is about to open and show the box scores after a game.

Two things have changed on my computer since this started happening, and I'm not sure which is the culprit...

1. I started using Mozilla Firefox as my default browser because I got tired of cleaning spyware off my computer every 2 days.

2. I was forced to load SP2 for Win XP because my WinMessenger stopped allowing me to login, and Microsoft's answer was of course to load SP2.

I don't know if any of this helps you guys or not... Mine crashes just about every single time now at the end of the game and sometimes I lose all the stats.

Yup... as soon as you install SP2 OOTP chokes... the solution is to turn off sound. Then you'll be fine.
