catobase help needed and would be greatly appreciated
ok, this is the first time ive used catobase and i have ran into a few dillemas. When i ran it it gave me a few errors... now ive checked all the pages and they all seem to be fine except the awards and glossary....neither of these folders contain data. both are empty....I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what went wrong...if thats not enough info i will try to provide more but right now im not really sure what else to say about it, just that both of those folders are empty, i did select the awards in catobase, and i assumed that was all i needed to do (after reading several step by step guides) but perhaps i was mistakened..yea im a complete rookie, so its probably just some foolish mistake i made somewhere, but thanx for the help very much

Open your database, go to Edit / Award Winners and see if anybody is listed there. Worst case, if you can't figure out why Catobase isn't finding the award winners on its own, you can always enter them manually from this screen.

yes, they all appear in the awards screen in the database, I guess the html pages are just not being created for some odd reason...its quite puzzling to me....the stuff that should be in the glossary folder is always not being generated...........

Try either turning off Win Shares Leaderboards under File / Options / Output, or turn off Win Shares altogether (File / Options / Win Shares / uncheck Calculate Win Shares). I think the pages are generated in the order they appear in the navigation bar at the top of the index page, and a problem with the Win Shares leaderboard could be causing Catobase to give up before it gets to "Awards" or "Help"... just a guess.

You should get some other error before you start getting Error 55s... Try it again and pay careful attention to (a) what the first error to come up is and (b) what Catobase is doing when it comes up, i.e. the text it displays while it is working.

ok, i just ran it again...the first error occurs when it says......creating leaderboards, positional leaderboards, catchers fielding...so in other words when it is creating the positional leaderboards for the catchers fielding stats i suppose...the error itself is error 2147217833: overflow has occured....and the 2nd error is just after closing that error message and it is error 55: file already open, that error repeats 7 times and then it is as if the program is finished, it gives me the execution time of the creations. Once again thanks for the help

Never heard of that error before... Other than turning off the Leaderboard Pages option (under File / Options / Output), I'm stumped.

hmm im thinking maybe (and it proves just how dumb i am that this just occured to me lol) that it has to do with the fact i edited the leaderboard requirements (since im using a 209 game schedule as opposed to a 162 game schedule) what i will try to do is return the requirements to defaults, maybe that will solve my dillema, i'll let you know.

The 209 game slate might still be the cause... That error comes up when a database tries to insert a value that is outside the allowed range for the field... so if games played is capped at 162 internally, you would get that error when a player showed up with more than that (though apparently, only on the positional leaderboards).

i know for a fact the cap is not 162. if there is a cap, it has to be higher than 169.

I noticed on the league page that i can see the award winners listed...as far as the cap on the number of games goes, if anyone happens to know for sure that would be nice to know.I wish that wasnt the issue, because i've always felt 209 was like the perfect length, guess catobase disagrees though.
