Question Runtime error

When I open OOTP5, the main screen opens. I choose to continue my league. When I try to do anything in the league, it tells me I have a runtime error.

"Microsoft Visual C++

Library Runtime Error

Program: ...\OOTP5.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

It then exits the program. What am I doing wrong?

Runtime error

No. I have downloaded and unzipped the league files that I am in. They worked fine until yesterday when I started getting the runtime error.

So you d/l and unzipped one yesterday and then it stopped working? If that is the case then it sounds like you did not properly install/unzip that league. Look here for help in this area:

Runtime error

No. It worked fine because I d/l, unzipped, and exported my changes. But today it doesn't work.

What if any changes have you made on your system since then or have you had any unusual shutdowns, crashes, lockups, etc, etc.....ANYTHING out of the ordinary?

I've had no unusual changes, shutdowns, or lockups or anything out of the ordinary since then.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling, something has had to have happened. You might try checking for a virus, etc.

I had the same issue...

Hi, I am running OOTP6 with the latest patch and...

I had the same error message as this original person and I am confused as to how to rectify it.

I have plenty of RAM and HD Space and my laptop is only a year old, not even.

I did recently delete some older leagues I was no longer in - would that affect the game and cause it to crash and if so - how can I get around that?

I would greatly appreciate your help - since I am in the playoffs for a league and now I can't edit my lineups, which might be an issue...Thanks!

Jeff

Jeff,

If that league was the default quick loaded league it can (especially if you also deleted the default folder that shipped with the game. What I would do is make a new folder with the old league name in it (LEAGUENAME.lg) then copy the .dat files from the create folder and make sure you have the following folders: league_news_box, PHOTOS, ExpImp, LOGOS (I don't think I'm missing any). If you don't have them then recreate them.

Hope that helps

thanks

Hi,

THanks for the response, I just had a break between meetings and I quickly reinstalled - after re-installing things seem back to normal.

I appreciate your response though and will keep that in mind going forward.

Cheers
Jeff
