Ping: Eugene - logos for you

I hope it was worth the wait - I just finished up the Kewanna Cougars logo. You can see it attached to this post.

Next up is for me to do is the Hillsboro Blazers you requested. Hopefully I can get that done in a couple of days. Whenever it gets done I'll post it in this thread.

LGO, thanks a bunch...your logos are always among the best.

Like the large lettering...it will show up quite well in the game...also the claw marks...very nice...and the tail on the "g".

Thanks guys, I'm glad it meets everyone's approval. The tail off of the g, yeah, that just kind of came to me since the actual g in that font had little in the way of a descender, it needed something to kick it up a bit.

Credit though for the hidden claw on the tail goes to Cuss, who pointed out the hidden arrow in the FedEx logo in his Mammoths logo thread which is what gave me the idea to try something similar.

I've often felt like I don't think "outside the box" enough when it comes to the designs of some of the other logos I've done, but I think I'm starting to make some progress in that area...

Okay, the Hillsboro Blazers is done. A modified version of the Eilat Heat logo, changed to reflect the location and name you were asking for. I did both primary and secondary logo versions.

The primary version:

Beautiful, you knocked home a grand slam with these logos LGO.

One thing I would suggest is maybe putting more red in the secondary blazers logo (maybe an extra outline?) so that it matches more with the primary.

Thanks Cuss, that means alot coming from someone as skilled at graphics as you are. Once again I have to give you credit, as it was you who normally did secondary versions of your logos. I kept thinking about that, and decided to give it a whirl myself.

In fact, I even have a suggestion for OOTP7 in that regard. Instead of squishing a 150x150 logo down in size on some of the screens as OOTP6 does, how about a dedicated smaller size display which could use secondary logos for a team should one be found in the logos folder? This way, the 150x150 logos would no longer have to be distorted to fit some screens, but instead specifically designed smaller logos could be used, say something like 100x100, or whatever. If the game doesn't find a dedicated smaller logo, then it uses the larger logo and shrinks it to fit.

Either that, or OOTP7 uses a consistent 150x150 size to display team logos throughout the game screens.

Anyway, here is the first of two revised versions of the secondary Blazers logo. This one has a red outline but is filled in between the strokes of the H:

Here is the other version, only this time there is no red fill between the strokes of the H.

I'm not sure which one I prefer.

You give me way too much credit LGO. I didn't do anything.

I really like that first red secondary logo than the last one, seems to click more with the scheme. And I agree with your suggestion of for OOTP7 as well, OOTP5 & 6 seem to rarely use the logo at its full size. I can't recall the game using the logo at its full size other than in free agency and the draft. However I also understand that the most important goal is to have the most amount of stats on a screen at one time with minimum amount of scrolling. But I am sure as the game improves, the OOTP team will try their best to balance both the functional and visual aspects of the game.

Excellent, LGO...a real dazzler.
Now I have two extremely good logos to alternate...yours and nmleague...I can't choose between them.

The secondary is a great idea...It shows up so well on all game screens.
I like a lot of color...secondary #2...looks like the one I will favor...or #3...#1 doesn't have enough color for me...will probably alternate these occasionally.

I hope you have told Markus to make the logos a standard size in OOTP7...that would be great...so many fine logos are ruined when they are squeezed to the smaller screens. I don't really care if the lineup comparison screens are squeezed, but the midsized one bug me...especially on the main screen scoreboard.

Since I'm on a secondary logo kick, I figured I might as well post this one up while I was at it.

Hmmm, now that I look at it again, I'm thinking perhaps I made the circle backgrounds a little too big. Might've been better if they were smaller so the K stands out more. I guess I'll just wait for the reviews first before deciding whether to revise it or not.

On another note, it looks like I've managed to wean Eugene off of always wanting to have a logo containing the full city name and team nickname.

The secondary version of the Kewanna Cougars:
