				Pedro to the Mets?

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_yl...v=st&type=lgns Any confirms? Seems to be hinged around a guaranteed fourth year, which Boston won't match. EDIT: http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSo...rticleid=58655 The Herald article referenced. Last edited by Sinclair; 12-13-2004 at 05:16 PM. |

Just that rumored thus far, so far as I can tell. A bunch of sports writers are confirming that Pedro has signed a contract (or given an oral gauranty), but no one who actually matters (i.e., the Mets, Pedro, the Red Sox).

WFAN in New York is saying "sources" from both sides have said Pedro has accepted the Mets' offer, but nothing concrete from brass on either side of the story. GH |

Yeah, I'm jumping the gun a bit, really out of hope that someone has a "done deal" on it for me... *crosses fingers*

I think it would be a good signing for the Mets. If they do sign him the move to the NL and a strikeout park would make him my front runner for the 2005 NL Cy Young award.

I understand that visibility is crappy. Honestly, it's just something that I've heard a few people say.

WFAN, Boston Herald, and a radio station in Boston have all reported that the Mets have signed Pedro to a 4 year deal, worth 56 million. http://mb2.scout.com/fnyfansonlyfrm1...ID=20865.topic Good thread^^ |

Pretty much a done deal... oh well. I'm glad that Theo isn't giving him 4 years at the very least. Sad day for Sox fans. Thanks for the memories and good luck Petey. |

Larry Lucchino (per AP):“He was a great member of the Red Sox team for seven years, and a certain Hall of Famer,” Red Sox president Larry Lucchino told The Associated Press in an e-mail. “He will be missed, and we are disappointed to have lost him to the Mets and the National League.” GH |

The real reason this sucks is because it might mean that Renteria is headed to Boston, but we will see.
