Ouch, about not using real players in career mode. Big mess up.

No

I have been trying to avoid replying here since its not my board, but this is incorrect.

The game fully support career mode with real players and automatically imports new rookies from lahman as the seasons pass.

Hey Shaun, Thanks for clearing that up. I thought it did but didn't know enough about it to say anything. Any ideas about my earlier post on how to get out of the loop when you have only 48 players on your team? I can't seem to go out to sign anyone since it won't let me off the roster screen until I have 50 players. My only choice has been the old "three finger salute".

Yes

You should be able to click the "sign free agent" button and sign 2 guys?

I must be missing something because on the screen it went to, I didn't see a button like that. It went straight to the roster screen and wouldn't let me out. But I'm unfamiliar with the navigation so it must be something I overlooked.

Replay

That thread is referring to the replay mode feature which lets you play the same season over and over (stats are compiled). It is like Diamond Mind.

wait wait wait... there is no line crossed there.. nothing wrong with that. Companies all over the place allow you to import or read other formats! That is one of the main selling features of many software. If Markus doesn't like it, then he should work on a feature that would allow Pure Sim users to import their leagues into OOTP6 and see how things turn out... GO FREE ENTERPRISE!

I had a PureSim demo a couple years ago I think. Didn't really get the chance to get into it though, but I'll download this one. I'm always willing to give a game a fair chance

Guys this idea was killed off, so it's really a moot point. Do to parts of the license agreements with the game, and given what a direct importer would likely involve, it probably would run afoul of the licensing agreements for OOTP. Markus asked Shaun not to pursue it, and Shaun agreed, might as well let it go.

But a third party could always pursue it...

I haven't been following that closely, but didn't the latest PureSim come out as a 1 version freeware, then changed to be completely freeware, but now is $29.99?

I swear I read an email from Shaun where he said PureSim 2005 would be free. But I got an email this weekend saying it's now $30, so I feel a bit lost. Considering no one else has mentioned this on any other boards, perhaps I really misunderstood something...

It was never freeware, always shareware, and it remains that way Its still shareware with no time limit or expiration. The $29.99 is the price for folks that decide to buy. I have also extended an offer to 12/31 where people can get the game for $19.99 if they register. I'm not going to link to it or expand further -- this isn't my board. But I did at least want to clarify that the game can still be downloaded and played free.

Puresim now has a financial coefficient. Now if the sim speed could just be jacked up to ootp levels, we'd really have something.

If it is free why would someone buy it? Just to help out ? (which I can understand) or is it for more features. I'm just curious.

So now it's free, but if you want to pay in order to help Shaun out, you have to pay $29.99 and not $19.99? That's a little bizarre but whatever floats his boat...
