NGBL: 2 Openings (SF & ORL)

The "Next Generation Baseball League" (NGBL) was formed under the concept of owners picking current teams and then simulating 10 years into the future to give the league a fictional feel, yet also preserving the MLB roots. Two calendar years and 9 seasons have now passed since the inception of the league and the fictional players are almost in full swing giving the league it's own unique personality. We have since expanded to 32 teams and continue to make changes to improve the league. The league features an incredibly active ownership base that is serious about baseball, but also not afraid to let loose and have alot of fun.

We currently have 2 openings as we enter into the 2021 offseason. Now would be a great time for an owner to start so he could get in there and make some immediate changes!

The KANSAS CITY ROYALS have finished 2nd and 1st within the AL South the last two seasons. They have a great base of talent, both young and veteran. The right owner should be able to propel this team into the playoffs now.

The SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS are a veteran team where an owner could choose to bring in some free agents to make a playoff push. They are led by this season's NL Batting Average champion, John Stokes.

LEAGUE FEATURES:

- Currently Running OOTP 6
- Heavily customized website (http://www.ngbl.net) that takes BOSI v2x to the extreme
- Marketing revenue split equally among the leagues 32 teams
- Coaches / Scouts turned to OFF.
- RFA: All players 3.5 stars or greater with minimal loyalty will be exposed to a "restricted free agency" type process. These players will be exposed to open bidding, but the current team will also be given a chance to match the winning contract. For anyone tired of leagues that don't have elite players hitting the market should find this very appealing.
- NEW IN 2021: Australian Fall League - This league gives teams a chance to send their prospects to play baseball in the fall. Teams are eligible to earn points to help "fill out" their player's ratings.
- NEW IN 2021: United Asian League - The NGBL has come to an agreement with the United Asian League. This agreement will allow a limited number of UAL players a chance to play in the NGBL. All UAL Free Agents with a minimal loyalty will be permitted to negotiate with NGBL ballclubs. If the NGBL ballclub submits an offer greater than a UAL ballclub, the player sticks in the NGBL.

Please contact me on these boards, via AIM (NJohnF) or via email njohncan@optonline.net if you're interested. Please specify which team you are interested in.

The NGBL is really a top notch league. In my opinion, nothing out there can even come close.

Paul and John run a solid and consistent ship. They are always trying to think of new ways to make the league even better. NGBL offers a better fantasy league experience than any pay-for site on the net. The best part is it's 100% free! The database driven website is hands down the best OOTP league website out there. I dare you to find me a better one with more features and statistics.

If you're looking for one league to dedicate your OOTP time to, NGBL is the one.

:cuddle: NGBL

It appears that Kansas City has been filled, but S.F. remains available!

I recently got the Yankees in NexGen -- nice rebuilding project -- and so far I'm extremely impressed with the league. The website is top-notch, and provides easy access to everything you need. The message board is set up almost perfectly - to my desires, at least. Feature after feature in this league, and I'd bet there will be a few more things added (game, site, or otherwise) during the season!

John, Paul, and really the rest of the owners have done a great job to make NGBL a very welcome place for those of us new to the league. That's one of the things most people worry a bit about when they join. Sometimes it's a bit tough to get into the mix of things, but here it's not a problem.

So c'mon down, grab the Giants, and get in on the preseason!!

Kansas City has been claimed. San Francisco is still available. Orlando has opened back up after the owner stepped down due to time.

The ORLANDO GENERALS were a World Series runner-up and perrenial playoff conender before falling to neglect. The current owner traded away some of their young stars and neglected to fill some gaping holes this offseason, but they are still a stacked team. With a dominant 1-2-3 in the rotation and perhaps the best young closer in the American League, the Generals could be back in the thick of things with minimal effort. And, unlike most contenders, the Generals actually have enough minor league talent to right the ship!

Still have these franchises available.

The San Francisco Giants are a team at the crossroads, but they have enough tools that the right manager could make them a force in the NL West. As mentioned before, 2020 batting champion John Stokes is the cornerstone of this franchise - and one of the leagues truly elite players.

The Orlando Generals are a team that, with just a bit of attention, should be a playoff contender once again. And, should an owner be looking to mold a team into their own image, the OG has some of the most desireable trading chips in the league.

Much more than just an online league, the NGBL is a community. Our forums are bustling with activity, and our integrated arcade features more than two dozen games. It's a tremendous way to piss the work day away after you've exhausted all your trade talks.

San Francisco has been filled. Orlando is the only opening right now. Don't miss a chance to get into one of the best leagues in the OOTP community.

Orlando is still available: here's some more highlights.

26 year old Garret Caldwell is poised to become the leagues next great lead-off hitter. He posted a .391 OBP in 2020 with 113 runs scored and 64 stolen bases.

34 year old Bob Halligan is one of the AL's top hurlers, having won 40 games over the last two seasons. All-Star closer Conrad Greigo closes out games with authority.

Finally, they have a solid minor league base, and enough parts to compliment their stars that a playoff run is a posibility in any given year.

Hit me up on AIM (pcallison14) if you're interested. With Free Agency getting underway on Tuesday, now would be the perfect time to put your stamp on a team.
