100% of my CPU to do most game actions

ever since i upgraded to version 6.11 (it literally started after that) actions like opening/closing player profiles, switching between my ML and A roster screen, switching between my team roster page and the FA page, all take 100% of my CPU and usually take about 10+ seconds to execute. it is the same whether i have 5 or 0 other programs running.

this is a recent development -- i've had the game since it came out and it ran fine for a long time. i've done complete uninstall/reinstall and even uninstalled some other games (tiger woods 2005, mvp 2004) to see if that would help, but it's still acting the same way.

help please!!!

Have you had ANY other PC issues during this time period?

no - and the only change of note i've made to my computer in the same timeframe was i have some new anti-virus software in place. but i don't have any problems with any other games or programs. i'm not running the strongest comp (~1G processor - i'm at work and forget the specifics) but i don't think it is because my computer isn't strong enough to handle it - like i said i've been using ootp6 since it came out and this is fairly new.

i also didn't mention that when i attempted to ftp a roster for the online league i am in, i kept getting an 'error-the connection to the server was reset' message. i'm assuming it's all related because i've ftp'd with nothing but success before, as well.

Turn off the virus software while playing OOTP.

that did it -- due to my lack of technical savvy i don't know how that relates -- but thanks very much for the info
