I'm looking for some honest GM's who are interested in participating in a historical league. Our league will begin in 1960 but franchises from later and earlier eras may be exchanged with existing franchises. There is an extensive interface for front office moves so having OOTP will not be required but of course it will help. We are using OOTP 6.11. But will use 7 when it becomes available. For information and registration please visit http://www.baseball.montoyahome.com .
Currently, there are 10 members. Although this will be our first OOTP league, most of us have been involved in Fantasy Sports together for over 6 years. I have served as commissioner in over 15 Fantasy leagues so expect a solid league to be run where all voices are heard and issues are resolved through discussion and voting. If you feel you'd be a good fit for our league, see the site and register your name and a password (for front office interface use). Last edited by f.montoya; 11-27-2004 at 07:40 AM. |

Yes. But players are from 1960. I may have already replied to your email.

So does that mean that you could ask for a team from the 20s (Brooklyn Dodgers) or current (Florida Marlins) and play as them, but you'd still have players from a team in 1960, correct? Like, if I wanted the Brooklyn Dodgers, I could have them, but their roster would be the 1960 LA Dodgers, correct?

Yes. As long as the team you are replacing is still available you can take over them as such. We'd like to keep with real franchises that existed or exist. We've already had the Washington Senators renamed as the Padres, as an example. But that was easy, even though they really became the Twins first and thier second turn was to Texas, and it didn't happen in '60. Anyway, if someone wants the Devil Rays in 1960, that's cool with us. They'd still be taking over an existing roster from an existing franchise in 1960.

A quick ammendment...
To anyone who is thinking of joining this league, I'm asking you to please take your team and this league seriously. I pay for my domain and server and I don't require you to have OOTP. Also, I wouldn't even think to charge a cent to anyone joining. Most of the GM's are friends of mine who I know and trust so I'm pretty much asking that you respect the seriousness we have in our league when considering whether to join or not.
We are not baseball freaks who have no other life other than to sit at a computer all day deciphering stats and such but, being that we have played Fantasy Sports together for several years, it's obvious we enjoy this kind of fun. Anyway, I just wanted to add this because I've seen a lot of griping in the forum about crappy GM's, bad trades, etc. Others asking for MEGA-serious people only. Some with FULL-ON application forms...APPLICATION FORMS? For Chrisakes! It's only a game. You wanna play? Let's play. Fidel |
