Hey Everyone,
Got a quick question about that set.. Now I downloaded it with no problems and also converted it from .jpg to bmp and put it my ootp4/graphics folder without a hitch either. However, here comes the problem.. When I go into my team setup screen and try to import the stadium. The stadium that I want (Let's say Shea Stadium) won't show on the ballpark screen for me to select.. I think I may know the reason and that is that these sets don't come with a .dat files which I believe is necessary in order for me to implant those stadiums. Now the question is Am I missing the .dat files? Was it forgot to be included in the download? OR Do I need to download it somewhere else for these particular sets? well... It was more then one question , but hopefully someone can help me out ..thanks everyone... Mike |

Keep in my mind that what you are changing is the picture of the Ballpark. You should bring up Shea Stadium on the Ball park edit screen. On that screen there is a place to enter the file name for the picture of the ballpark. Click that and then type the name and file location where you have the Shea picture stored. I think that will do it for you.

Thanks for the response.. however, that's not exactly what I'm looking for..
I'll use my example.. I imported the stadiums into the graphics folder as I am suppose to do... Then.. I open OOTP4, and click on New York, and I go to their team setup screen... In that screen, I click on the "home park" button and then the ballpark screen shows up.. However, it only shows the default ballparks that came with the game.. I've imported other stadiums before, and I have never had this problem, and I have a very strong feeling that it has to do with the fact that a .dat file has not been created for that "1971-2000" set as all I see are pictures and no .dat files in the zip.. So basically the question is, is there a .dat files available for that set? or not yet? thanks for the feedback, hope to hear more soon Mike |

Have you followed the instructions for ballpark installation found here:

mp84,
There's a number of reasons I did not provide DAT files... 1. OOTP can "comfortably" handle 50 ballparks on the screen. Although there's a way to get 75, 50 is comfortable... (ps: this is a minor reason, see below) 2. The most significant reason is that providing the DAT files and downloading them into the graphics directory will overwrite any ballparks setups you already might have had. I agree that may not be your case, but many would write back asking what happened to the previous set they downloaded... The issue is that whatever ballparks are defined in the DAT files in the Graphics directory are the only ones available for all your leagues. So, if you have League A set up with 20 ballparks (using the DAT files from someone else in the Graphics directory) and you download my set and copy them in the Graphics directory (overwriting the DAT files with mine) you've now effectively deleted your ballpark setup for League A. There is no way for me to "add" my ballparks to what you already might have set up in the DAT files, nor is there a way to delete ballparks in those files to make room for others... so, Until Markus gets a chance to improve this area of the game, it's safest to simply provide the ballparks and let each individual decide how best to add them to what they already have. JML wrote an excellent description on how to install and assign the pics here .. http://www.bigcitybaseball.com/bigcitybaseball/install.htm I hope that helps ![]() [ 04-03-2002: Message edited by: Henry ]
|

Hnery,
How do you get 75 on the screen, i 75 parks on the screen but the last column you have trouble reading. This is due to fact they are transparent. Second- I have a .dat file for those stadiums. Leave you email and i will send it to you |

Thanks |

Yes...
The 1971-2000 set is for ootp4... http://www.bigcitybaseball.com/bigcitybaseball/ that's where I found it .. Great site, it already has a lot of ootp4 downloads available and the game has only been out for about a month now.. Mike |
