Force-assigning FAs

I have unretired a number of players in my league that should not have retired, but they become free agents. Is there a way to force a free agent onto a particular team before the FA period starts?

Go to League Setup and disable the financial system. Then click Edit Free Agents, choose the particular team to which you want to assign the player, and right click his name.

If they're showing up on the free agent list, maybe you can select the team from the "Select Offering Team" drop down menu (in the Free Agent screen), and then right click on the player you want to go to that team. Might work.

This method should work perfectly to assign the players to the teams that you want them on.

I do this with career-ending-injury guys at the end of each season because Catobase (at least the version I have) doesn't record them otherwise. It works like a charm. Just remember to turn financials back on afterwards.

Yep, same solution as mine, except for the turning financials off part. The only reason I didn't mention that is because I never have them on in the first place

. But, like ctorg and spoor said, it will work. I do it all the time, also.

When you turn financials off, is everything exactly the same when you turn them back on? All the salaries, contracts etc.?

Yes, as long as you don't play any games or move the game forward any days. Otherwise, things can get screwy.
