Can't Set Up Team Rosters
I’m having a problem with OOTP 6.11 I’m using Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com ffice ffice" /><o ></o >I want to set up a custom league with historical players obtained from the Lahman 5.1 database. <o ></o >The league structure is: 1 league 1 division 10 teams Players: NONE Record Book: Blank Starting Year: 2004 <o ></o >League options are: League Mode: Career Financial System: Disabled Coaches/Scout System: Disabled Simulate Minors: Disabled <o ></o >I’m able to populate the Free Agents List with players imported from the Lahman database. But when I attempt to sign a free agent to an offering team, the player disappears from the list as expected, but does not show up in the offering team’s roster. The offering team’s roster remains blank. <o ></o >I have also tried with the Financial System enabled, with the same results. <o ></o >What am I doing wrong? <o ></o >Please help, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com ffice:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on"><st1 lace w:st="on">Sandy</st1 lace></st1:City>

Check the signing team's Transactions screen... It sounds like the players are in "Designated For Assignment", and you have to assign to the active roster before they'd show up on the team's Roster screen.

OK Thanks to Jeremy I checked the signing team's Transaction screen and sure enough the players were there in "Designated for Assignment". Now the question is how to assgn them to the Active Roster. When I tried to drag them to the Active Roster I got a message that they must first be on the 40-Man Roster. I had no problem dragging them to the 40-Man Roster, but when I tried to drag them from there to the Active Roster I got a message that they must be first dragged to the box at the lower right corner of the screen. This put them back to where they started, at "Ready for Assignment"!
There was also some stuff about Waivers, which I didn't understand. I would be grateful for a brief step-by-step tutorial on assigning players to the Active Roster. Thanks, Sandy |

Never mind. I figured out how do do it. When you drag the player to the 40-man roster, he is still shown in "Ready for Assignment" Now you drag him from there to the Active Roster. Voila!
