Generally you have to attain some sort of height before you can fall.

His 5.14 ERA was over two and a half points below his career ERA...

(I know enough to understand tinstaapp; he was one and didn't lose it b/c of injuries but rather b/c of ineffectiveness, iirc.)

Yeah, somethin' bad happened there. 'Course that 189.00 ERA in '03 didn't help his market value much either.

May could magically have a decent season in a pitchers park next year. One thing he that is almost guaranteed, his HR total given up will indeed decrease.

He's in the NL West though - pitching in Coors three or four starts may make up for that.
